Rated 2 out of 5 by Good while it lasted This bottom bracket came stock on my Canyon Strive when I bought it back in November. Due to being away etc. it has done around 6 months riding. The bearings in the bottom bracket are completely gone - cranks have loads of play in them and feel rough to turn. Replaced with Saint BB at a third of the price. 04 September 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good BB deep threads I went with this BB because I do about 1000ks a month commuting. Just about any BB will begin to develop play and bearings start to go in about 3 months. This BB runs smooth even when bearings are getting to the end of their life. Maybe its the extra ball bearings they put in it? I have the Wheels Manufacturing PRESS-6 bearing tool so getting a fresh BB every three months without removing cups is ideal. This will save your frame threads in the long run. The cups are well made and the BB threads further into the frame than other BBs. My first rebuild I noticed the seals were missing!! But its nice to have stocked up on the rebuild kits. So perhaps this one will go longer. 15 June 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing BB ive owned one of these for about 2 years now and this thing takes a beating almost 3 years and i bought a rebuild kit for it , supreme dust/dirt covers keeps everything out and is extremely light and easy to rebuild 09 September 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great, solid etc.. I've been giving mine a hammering now with my Atlas chainset for a year and it's still perfectly smooth, and I bought it 2nd hand in the first place ! I think the difference is that my Cove frame's BB shell is properly machined. People who have problems with this type of BB often haven't had their shell faced. A great feature of this item is that the cup threads are much wider than normal. This allows me to run all 3 spacers on the drive side to give better chainring clearance and there's still plenty of cup threaded in the BB shell (note, RaceFace don't approve this, which is understandable). Only weakness is the grey plastic bearing covers. They're quite brittle and will crack if you try to lever them out with a screwdriver, which seems to be the only way to remove them to fully inspect bearings (which you probably won't need to do often anyway). 09 March 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by update Had to swap the non drive side cup today as it suddenly developed loads of play 13 weeks after the drive side gave up.I couldn't change it at the time as it felt like it was welded in,i had to use an extension bar on the cup spanner, that wasn't due to the thread length but the thread lock i used.If they had lasted 6 months as a pair would have maybe rated it higher. 09 August 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by Are they worth it ? Had these for just over 3 months and have had to take them apart to clean and regrease them. They started making a kind of cracking sound when putting the power down at about the 2 o'clock position.Completely stripped the drivetrain and replaced the chain, rings and cranks which made no difference as i didn't think it would be a 3 month old DH bracket. Eventually i got P.O and thought i might as well swap it with the wifes shimano BB and the noise dissappeared. The shimano is about 15 months old and had been used by me to hammer trail centres and do a bit of DH before swapping it to her bike. All in all not too impressed, although the extended threads do give loads of support , looking at a saint now , we'll see if that's any tougher. 04 May 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by So Far so good. Replaced my HopeBB with this, the hope came loose and sripped out of the BB shell!! With the RaceF, had it 4-5 months of heavy riding (Im not the smoothest, at landing) still as new. Note on the pic the RaceF BB has red loctite like stuff, the twice as expensive Hope, dont! which is why, in my opinion it came loose. Washed it in the dark after a ride & didnt pick it up till after my next ride. So cant fully blame hope. Replaceable bearings £1-£50 ebay or £6 for RFace from CrC. Get it bought. 18 March 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by got this today supposed to be better than my old one "diabolus x type gold one" fitted with ease . old one lasted from august till may . give update soon 09 May 2010

Do this fit on a scott voltage fr 20 short 2013 model?

I have already the Truvative Howitzer XR 73mm shell and the Truvative Hussefelt 1.0 165mm 36T chainring. so if I by this BB will the Truvative Hussefelt 1.0 165mm 36T chainring still fit? And which BB tool do i need to install the Race Face BB and remove the Truvative Howitzer XR 73mm shell?

Answer:
The Howitzer interface is specific to Truvativ and is only compatible with Hoiwtzer cranks; if replacing the bottom bracket for an X-Type you will need to replace the cranks as well. A standard external bracket tool should fit both systems.
