Ragley Blue Pig Hardtail Frame

The 2014 Blue Pig features Ragley's Trail Geometry and a custom triple butted and heat treated 4130 Chromoly steel tube-set frame. Building on the success of our previous Blue Pig models they have retained their innovative features such as the 3 Finger Bridge, Chainstay mounted disc brake calliper and the Taperlite seat tube. The slack head angle and inclusion of ISCG 05 tabs hint at this bike’s true intentions for getting lairy on the trails and hammering the descents!

The Blue Pig uses the 44mm headset standard which permits the use of headsets from Cane Creek, Nukeproof and others to accommodate all steerer tube configurations. With the right headset, this frame can take a 1.125in, tapered or 1.5in fork. We recommend Nukeproof headset models - 44IESS and 44IISS (standard), 44IETS (tapered) or 44EEOS (1.5in steerer).

Trail Geometry: The revised Blue Pig geometry retains a slack head angle of 66.5deg yet drops the bottom bracket height to lower your centre of gravity and inspire confidence through the rough stuff. When coupled with a mid to long travel fork, the improved geometry results in impeccable trail manners, handling and stability which should see you go up, along and down faster than ever before!

Features:

  • Custom triple butted and heat treated 4130 Chromoly steel.
  • CE EN14766 Certified.
  • "Three Finger" chainstay bridge is exclusive to Ragley, and allows massive tyre clearance so you can fit 2.5in rubber with massive chainring and tyre clearance. Happy with 36t middle rings and gives resilience to any attempted chainsuck/derailment.
  • Bolt on Cable guides located on the underside of the top tube allow for neat and tidy adaptable routing to suit your set up.
  • Chainstay mounted post disc brake mount (Max rotor size: 180mm).
  • Taperlite Seat tube.
  • Revised and updated Trail geometry. ISCG 05 Tabs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Headtube oval? Triple cable guard kit, but only 2 bolt... I ordered 14 inch frame(my size 169cm) and local shop mechanic tried to install headset(Nukeproof Warhead 44IETS Headset). But top cup wouldn't be inserted perfectly in 2mm. Headtube oval problem? Triple cable guard was in it, but only 2 bolt existed. It's frame that very hard to build. 14 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by fantastic frame i've been on this for a month now and have to say i'm absolutely amazed by the feel of the frame when hitting my local trails. extra comfy ride, nice new little features and fresh looking paintwork is what it gets me with. highly recommended. 05 February 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Absolutely Incredible. This frame is astonishing. As per other review it climbs exceptionally well, which was a very pleasant surprise. And not just well for a trail bike, I beat my friends on XC bikes. It descends very well and once you're used to the rigid rear it's capable of going just as fast as a 150mm FS. It's stable. The BB on mine is 0mm drop with 150mm Sektor and Hope EC headset cup, so with sag you get just enough drop to give a really planted feel you'd expect only from a FS frame. I'd ignore the suspension reccomedations (Unless my frames out of spec). 130/140 would be too low (even with 165mm cranks) 160 with internal lower cup would be ok. Or 150 external. They're just trying to cover a wide range of travel options but IMO it needs 150EC/ 160ZS. Bare in mind 160mm is more than 10mm taller than 150mm for most forks. My seat angle is 73°/ head angle is bang on 66.5° So don't take all the specs as given, do your homework on fork options but you will not regret it. You do not need the full suspension! 02 November 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Superb all rounder Very impressed with this frame, was not expecting it to be such a good climber, but the 16" frame I bought (I'm 5'9") fits perfectly and gives plenty of room to get forward on the climbs. Mine is built on a 150mm Rockshox Sektor fork and it is fantastic on the downhill stuff, very stable and just wants to be pushed harder and harder. I noticed it it much more controllable through rocky sections than my old alum framed bike Few nice little features on this frame sold it to me, large dia head tube suits all forks, 31.6mm seat tube to accommodate a dropper seatpost, ISCG mounts and very neatly packaged post brake mounts inside the rear triangle...highly recommended! 29 September 2013

Answer:
The disc mounts on this frame are on the chainstay (as opposed to the seatstay) so the caliper mounts 'inside' the rear triangle and helps keep the setup looking much neater. It's a standard post-mount to accept a post-mount caliper, and can run up to a 180mm rotor size.

Answer:
160mm post mount bolts straight to brake mount on the frame between the seat and chainstays, 180mm post mount like mine requires an adapter. they are cheap enough.
