Rated 5 out of 5 by 1 reviewer.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Strong Wheels Firstly these wheels are very strong, their straight pull spokes make them very rigid. The hub is well designed and the freewheel seems to engage as quickly as some higher end units. The rim isn't exactly disc specific which is a shame - the braking surface is not machined so blends in OK but would be better without. The weight may be an issue for some - although this weight tends to make them a stronger wheel which is the main purpose of these wheels. With the limited amount of road specific disc wheels in this price range these are not a bad choice. If you want something lighter go for a Kinesis CX Disc wheel that will knock 500 grams off these, although with a marginal loss of indestructibility! These are definitely better than the shimano disc specific road wheels though. 30 June 2014

Answer:
Sure; these disc compatible road wheels will work fine with the Shimano R505 mechanical disc brake systems. They use a standard 6-bolt rotor fitting.
