Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Plenty of bang for the buck This bike was bought on sale as an obsolete product, but as such came at a great price and offers features I like. 9 speed gearing - no need for a more fragile 10-speed system. The Tiagra components are essentially a reborn year 2000 Shimano 105 9-speed system of fond memory : great quality. Usable wheels : nothing fancy but reliable and repairable by any bike shop. V-brakes: not the latest and greatest but perfect in use for all but sustained downhill use in bad weather. On and off road, the bike offers irreproachable manners. Fairly low mass. It comes as a good compromise for on/off road out of the box. I like the standard equipment tires. One issue : the bike is TALL. I am 6' and normally ride 60cm bikes, or 'large' sloping tube models. This Ridley is a 58 and easily as large as typical 60cm road bikes. So don't buy too big for you. And, the standard gearing is tall. It is fine for real XC riding, but a 38-25 bottom gear might be too tall for uphill offroad, MTB-type work. 28 August 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Where are the double water bosses? A very light frame and the bike was almost perfectly trimmed and ready to use. A dream to ride it. But where are the promised double water bosses? 19 June 2013

Frame Size

Hi, I'm 6', will the 58cm frame size be suitable? I have a road bike that is 58cm and it's fine. But I've read reviews that suggest that Ridley size their bikes large, and I am concerned that 58cm will be too big. I prefer a large frame and full leg extension when pedalling, but don't like the handlebars to be too low resulting in a hunched cycling position. Cheers.

Answer:
As you are 6 foot tall and given the geometry of the frame you are still best suited to go for the 58cm. The head tube on the frame is not too short so you can still get a more upright position when used in conjunction with a suitable stem to fine tune your position on the bike.

does it have rear rack mountings?

I'm after a decent all-rouder to mostly commute with & I'd like full mud guards & pannier rack for everyday use. Will this bike accept those?

Answer:
The X-Ride frame and fork does not carry mudguard/ rack eyelets. The X-Bow has the required mounts though and is available at the same price point, see link below
