Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous Never had a problem with any product iv bought from crc before only had problems with delivery 5 times. The stem feels cheaply made, one of the holes in the main body of the stem has been drilled off centre badly and I'm afraid of tightening it up as its that bad. Also the image of isn't the same as the one I recieved as the cover cap has the rithey logo in the image but the one I got was just two strips of metal. To add to insult I didn't receive a returns form with this package so I'm currently waiting for a reply from crc to get one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Anonymous

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous good product
been cycling on these for a couple of years round box hill surrey, have proven to be sturdy and safe. Prefer a more upright approach on my mtb bike and because they are adjustable allowed me to try various set ups untill i was happy.

Made the mistake to choose a MTB frame that is too big for me and my back/elbows didn't really enjoy that.
This was a perfect solution as it raised the handlebar at the same time as it put it closer to the saddle. No more pain on long rides!
That's true that it's not a five seconds process to adjust it, but hey, not supposed to touch it once it's done, and as several say, it's very secure, and that's almost all that matters!
Very good design and quality to my opinion, cause it's not gonna collapse even if you don't tighten completely the screw.

I ordered this stem because I was upgrading my bike handle bars from std to oversized and I needed to get a little extra height. I did read the reviews but weight was not a issue for me so I ordered it thinking 2 out of 3 who reviewed said it was ok so it must be. However, to my utter disappointment it was of very poor quality and not easy to adjust. And to make it worse it did not hold the oversized handle bars at all. There was a massive gap where there should be none, once the bolts were on. It was totally pointless. Im sorry I ever bothered. And will avoid this make at all costs.
I have since bought another stem from chain reaction which is RaceFace and it fits perfectly (an extra spacer was needed) was the same price and it's lighter. So you make up your own mind.

ok you're buying this as a last resort. i had to because i didnt want to buy new forks and needed to raise my handle bar height. it is a little on the heavy side but to get that extra height its worth it. as a result its solid, don't worry it will never slip once fixed in place (dozens of little teeth hold it in place.) apart form that everything works like a normal stem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous I don't usually write reviews but I don't agree with the other 1* review so here goes...Yes it's a bit heavy but that is what you would expect from any adjustable stem, No Ritchey products are every poorly made !! Its easy enough to adjust but most importantly it is totally secure and cannot slip or drop when used. I have one on a time trial bike and set it high early in the season and then drop it bit by bit as by body readjusts to the areo position. I would totally recommend one one a TT bike to experiment with your position.

This turned out to be very disappointing. It is heavy, poorly made and difficult to adjust. Mine is sitting in its box in the back of the shed. Redeeming features - nice packaging!
