Rated 4 out of 5 by Does the job Works fine, does the job, but very expensive for what it is. 18 July 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by adequate This is an adequate form of rear spindle, as with the front maxle the collar is prone to flaring if you let the lever slip out of its notch when tightening. I do like Rockshox kit but this could be better designed 13 March 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by It's not getting a third chance I've snapped two of these on my Orange in the last year. The first time it was covered on warranty, but that didn't help me get back into the race. I managed to snap the second at Bike Park Wales, and as Rockshox will not give me another replacement, I won't be getting another. 03 November 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by it's ok but way too expensive!! i have this on a mongoose, and its always been a pain in the butt. i mean i first knew it was gonna cost so much when the hanger snapped in half and it cost me 30 quid which is insane and the maxle itself is 50 quid!! why? its not worth that much and yeah it works its way off as your hitting the rough stuff, its ok but if i could choose any axle for the back, i'd avoid this as its not the right bang for the buck its way too expensive 16 September 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Pain up the arse! These are a real pain to use, fiddly and i have managed to snap the quick release whilst tightening up after noticing it had come extremely loose after a mid level ride. The cost is far too much to replace also. 27 April 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Too expensive! As others have said, this is far too expensive for what it is. The other problem I have is it keeps working loose on serious rough stuff like the Fort William DH. I have to check and tighten it after every run. Now using locktite on the threads! 21 April 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by rubbish I have one of these maxle things on my orange 160, and im not happy at all with it. Its hard to get in and out its really tricky to undo the QR lever and its hard to pull out of the hub. Not much fun at the side of a trail, and to make it even better I just broke mine trying to get it out then only to fine out they cost £49.99 witch i think is taking the P***! 14 January 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good part but too expensive Makes a difference and stiffens up the back end, but it's soooooo damn expensive for what it is!!! It's hardly 'cutting edge' engineering...why the high cost to replace it? 19 August 2011

These rear maxles are all 12mm in diameter.

If it is a 15mm or 20mm Maxle you require; see the suggestion below.

Answer:
This fork was available with both the 15mm and 20mm diameters for the 32mm Chassis.

If you measure the diameter of the current axle or the internal diameter of the fork dropouts; the size required should be apparent.

Answer:
OK, I have read a few write ups on the Trek Fuel EX9 and it doesn't say you cannot use a RockShox Maxle, it specifies that they have used a different type of axle, apparently inferior at that,
Tip; buy it, if it don't fit send it back
