24 Months of development - This is a great piece of gear! It’s so versatile we weren’t sure where to catalogue it! It’s both a jacket and a shirt! Casual yet technical the cutter shirt is great to ride in with its technical apparel performance but doesn’t look out of place when you just want to chill with your mates. Not only does it have a casual style and fashion forward look but the Cutter features a water resistant DWR coating so it’s going to keep the worst of the weather out if you get caught out in a shower. It’s also very lightweight and packable. Perfect if you’re trail building and riding all in the same day.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous After reading the marketing blerb I was expecting this shirt to be far more resilient than it is. "2 years of development" This is simply a shirt with poppers instead of buttons. It looked decent though.
First ride with it in the cold winter on a 7 mile trail center loop the stitching came apart and then ripped, creating a massive hole under the arm that is un-repairable. Have no mistake this damage occurred simply riding the trail. No crashes or any abnormalities just mild XC.
Probably the most disappointed I've been with a clothing product in my 31 years on the planet.
CRC delivery was spot on as usual though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous I wanted one of these when they first appeared last year but allegedly Royal weren't happy with the quality and had a rethink. The 2013 Cutter is not a technical shirt by any means it's 100% cotton and the quality is almost indistinguishable from similar casual cotton shirts 1/3 of the price. There are some nice details and subtle logos but at the end of the day it's cotton if you're riding/building & perspiring it's going to get wet and stay wet. The DWR coating does what it says it does and shrugs off light showers and for mucking about in the woods it's pretty much perfect but if you want something primarily for riding in I would look elsewhere. Sizing is fine I'm an average XL and the XL Cutter is a great fit, not overly baggy but there's room for a base layer underneath. The sleeves and body are also a good length for riding in. The black shirt is pure stealth the sort of thing Batman might wear if he built trails but for £70 you have really got to want one.
