Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 21 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Gripy all rounder I`m now using Hans Dampfs, going a size up to 2.35", after using 2.25" Nobby Nics which are original equipment tyres on my Giant Trance 27.5 1. The difference is very noticeable, the snakeskin side wall gives that extra support and puncture prevention is so far 100%! These tyres are very easy to mount in a tubeless set up too. I`ve ridden in all conditions with these tyres, wet, mud, roots, and hard pack and they are the best ive used. For the Summer months my hot set up seems to be Hans Dampf front and Rock Razor rear , dropping the pressures to 20 psi for grip. I`ll swop the rear later in the year for a Dampf . Rolling resistance is not as good as the Nobby Nics but hey its a trade off for a great all rounder. 27 July 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Grip and very Light! I used pacestar on my rear wheel for low rolling resistance and trailstar on my front for greater traction on trails. So far so good! Grips on rocks, roots, corners, loose soil, and escapes muddy terrain with ease. Hans Dampf Evo is way better than my previous Nobby Nics. Definitely builds extra confidence and they're very light! ** Snakeskin, TLR, Evolution Line, Folding bead, 26x2.35, 765 grams 23 July 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good traction, wears fast Great tire for traction and rolling resistance. The rear tire seemed to wear fast 18 July 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Awesome This tyre is so good, I have only used in insanely dusty terrain as well as rocky single track, I'm still to gain the confidence and speed to lean hard enough and make this tyre fail, but the bad thing is now my front is washing out from the speed 16 July 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great grip in the wet With Hans Dampf at the front I dare to ride even faster, especially in the wet. Upgraded from Continental X-King RaceSport. 14 July 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very nice Got this to replace the Nobby Nic that came stock on my bike. The Nic was not a very confidence inspiring front tire, but the HD with the Trail Star is miles better. Very sticky and grippy in the corners and still rolls pretty good. I still use the Nobby Nic as a rear tire and find it to be a good combo. 06 July 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Unbelievable.... The tire is extremely well built and of great quality. It looks awesome - high volume tires - and it works like a charm.. they are a bit expensive - and they tend to wear out faster than others.. overall very grippy and flowy - especially with the trail/pace star combo... Why do I not recommend it? To get the beat seated on the rim needs a bit of power, but overall works nicely and solid... I put these onto a set of 27.5 Derby rims... B U T - trying to get these tires OFF the rim... next to impossible... good bye a layer or two of skin off your fingers... the lip of that Schwalbe bead attaches hermetically to the rim... this maybe a lack of skill from my side aka human error... but I don't have the patience for this.... 02 July 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Choice fairly new to this mountain biking lark. However after a few miles on these I was filled with confidence and tackling downhill sections and corners quicker than ever. 25 June 2014
