Schwalbe Land Cruiser Road Bike Tyre

The foundation of all Active Line tires is a high-quality 50 EPI carcass. Coarsely woven 20 or 24 EPI carcasses can no longer be found in Schwalbe’s range. The much more densely woven 50 EPI carcass is far more puncture resistant and robust. At the same time the fabric needs less rubber coating and thus has a reduced weight. Naturally every Active Line tire has a puncture protection belt, a balanced rubber compound, plus a functional and attractive tread design. Simply said: Active Line is reliable, brand quality!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Good tyres Got these to put on a hybrid easy rolling with a surprising amount of grip even on gravel. unsure as to how long they'll last but if other Schwalbe tires I've had are anything to go by I won't be changing them soon. 19 September 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Quality, Grippy tyre I have bought numerous sets of these tyres, both in 26" and 700c sizes and have covered 1000's of miles on them. They provide me with the grip on those wet muddy back lanes yet they are durable and have a good life span to them, the kevlar belt works really well and have numerous times noticed cuts to my tyres right down to the yellow kevlar belt but no punctures, you can pump them up to maximum for a faster ride with the center ridge providing a smoother feel to the tyre or can decrease the pressure for those slippery, muddy rides ie forest trails. These Schwalbe tyres provide you with a multi-purpose tyre for the price you will find it difficult to beat and i will continue to use them for as long as they are around. 29 August 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by 28 February 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by 05 October 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great tyres Just put a pair of these on my Cannondale Caad x Cyclocross bike which I use primarily as a road bike and on gravel / dirt tracks. They roll really well and are reassuringly grippy and sure-footed. On a more minor point, they look good on the bike too !! 06 August 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by So tough it could be solid fast when hard, grippy when soft and tougher than mother nature herself. weighs about the same though. 26 January 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Not half bad... Bought these to replace the Continental Speed Kings on my Crosser (which lasted hours rather than days) They are quite hefty, but once fitted they roll really well on road ('REALLY WELL' that should have been) I didn't expect that to be honest, cornering on road is like a 1970's car in an American movie... slooooow slides rather than all out grip, which is great fun-compared to a short fast slide-grip-pain which slick tyres seem to provide if someone of my abilities gets carried away. No punctures yet, despite some fairly hard-core off road use which I suspect they weren't designed for & cornering grip is at least as good as the Speed Kings off road. All in all, a great value tyre, seems hard-wearing, suprisingly capable off-road, down sides are only that it is a bit wooly cornering on road & is not a light tyre. 22 August 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Mislabelled size I ordered a 35mm reflective and got a 47mm instead (written on tyre and from measurement) The funny thing is the bar code tag actually writes 35mm. Not sure who got it wrong, but that aren't confidence inspiring....... 01 August 2012

loaf capacity

The load capacity is refered to one tire, right ? I am thinking them for my Kona Ute that weights 19 kilos, plus my 100, my daughter's 16 and 5-10 kilos of stuff. For the moment i run Continental City Contact but i moved to a more rough unpaved environment

Yes, the load rating is for the individual tyre; your weight should be spread equally between front and rear, giving you up to 175/180Kg or so to work with.

I feel that these tyres will be good enough as your weight is spread between the 2 wheels in a 40:60 ratio for example, if you have a road bike then you could go for the 700 x 40c for a bit extra comfort or if you want a faster ride then the 700 x 35c tyres would be my choice and i use them on my tour bike, alternatively if you have a mtb then you could go for the 26 x 1.9 which will give you all the weight carrying capacity you will need, your wheels will give out before your tyres will. Hope this helps ?
