Schwalbe Marathon GreenGuard 26" MTB Tyre

The original. The archetypal high quality touring tire. Now completely revised:

GreenGuard. The highly elastic, India rubber layer is 3 mm thick. Other manufacturers call such a tire “Plus”. However, Green is not just the colour, but also the philosophy: One third of the GreenGuard is made up of recycled latex products.

"Anti-Aging". The completely new sidewall construction can withstand for much longer the typical cracking resulting from overloading due to insufficient inflation pressure. Also the new Endurance Compound substantially increases durability.

E-Bike Ready. The new Marathon has been designed for use on all types of E-bikes. The following sizes bear the ECE75 mark, suitable for use on faster, up to 50 kph, E-bikes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent wearing and handling tyres I have used these tyres now exclusively on all my bikes. On the tandem I keep the pressures between 90- 100 psi. I ride between 16,000 to 18000 km per year and replace the rear one after a year's use. The front one does about 18 months. I often do the whole year without a puncture which is quite remarkable. The one thing is that when getting worn a sharp stone or glass can initiate a cut in the rubber and it can subsequently spread and grow. If it isn't bad I sometimes inject some super glue to prevent the cut spreading. Handling on everything but wet clay is good. Certainly I don't hesitate to use them on our dirt roads. On my other bikes I replace the tyres with these when the originals wear out and have been satisfied that there are improvements in handling and rolling resistance on most road surfaces. In short they are both the cheapest per km ridden and the best tyres I have found. 20 April 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by 8000km not punctures I have been running these tires for 6months and done over 8000km on them in city riding with the usual broken glass, dirt and other stuff that you find in the city and in all weather conditions (except snow/ice). I have yet to have a single flat tire since installing them. There is still plenty of tread and they take a nice high pressure so rolling resistance is low. I have the 26x1.25" and run them at 90psi. I can't recommend them highly enough and have just done another order of 4tires. They do feel a little strange initially as they are very tall in the centre due to puncture protection, tho you soon get used to it. Highly recommended. 22 February 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by I've bought this to change my stock Maxxis Sphinx (which i didn't like). Using in just for 1 week.. Very like it! Good quality, good rolling, still no punctures (on Maxxis Sphinx got punctures every 1-2 day). So i reccomend. 25 April 2012
