Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic! I replaced my specialised seat with the avant because although the specialised was comfortable for a couple of hours it gave me really bad chaffing, which made it impossible to go for long rides. So the first day riding with this saddle and 4 hours later, still comfortable with no chaffing. Really pleased and would definitely recommend. 24 April 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by AT LAST Wowwee.. OK.. Best saddle.. Ever. I had done a 240km MTB endurance event in April which caused some unpleasant Plumbing issues. I googled and searched and this saddle came up as a logical option. The problem was that I didnt know what size to get as I am 90kgs 6'2". The sit bone measurement is 10 - 11cm, so decided on this one.. Its Awesome and no plumbing issues after 4hrs on the saddle.. I went from a Gobi, to a Selle Maxflite gel, to this. Gobi was like a proverbial wedge. Gave that away for free. Maxflite was wayyy better.. This Avant is so comfortable... Kinkless plumbing as well as butt-bliss.. cycling was never this good.. 27 August 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cycling Heaven The holy Grail, a comfortable saddle that doesn't cause problems in those "sensitive" areas, I've tried quite a few, but this is the best yet, feels a bit strange at first, the shape is different to anything else I've tried, but what is immediately apparent is the total lack of pressure in the wrong places. So if their other offerings are this good I can totally recommend Selle SMP products. 15 September 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Saddle I was suffering from numbness and had damaged my nerves causing a numb old fella which lasted for two weeks. I took advice and stayed off my bike to allow things to get back to normal, in that time I looked at all the options to suit me. The advant was the best. I started riding again in the beginning of May and it is perfect no numbness no chaffing and comfortable. An expensive outleigh but worth every penny, I did try two other saddles but neither worked.. Good tip! have your seat bones measured to choose the right width seat, mine was 143 unfortunatly the closest was the 154mm, 131 and 129mm was too narrow shame they dont do a 143mm which is a standard size .. still it works so money well spent. 30 May 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by 1000 miles painfree Just completed LEJoG on this saddle. I bought the Pro too given the raves. The Avant knocks it's socks off for a 14 stone, 6 ft tall reasonably broad person. Much more comfortable over 100 miles a day than the Pro which was great for 30-40 miles but started to hurt thereafter and got progressively worse over the 40-100 mile distance. I cannot recommend the Avant enough if you are well built and like longer distances. Not only do you get no numbness, but back pain is very well managed and there are lots of riding positions for climbing and descending. Though shorter than the Pro, it seems to be just as versatile in use. 05 October 2009
