After the enthusiastic testimony of the cyclists that are using it, after having been the object of an important medical and scientific research, SMP multiplies the range to give each cyclist the model most suitable to his physical structure and to the type of use.

The original beak of the saddle nose, designed to supply a flat base for efforts when sitting for long climbs that have to be faced and as a help in downhill slopes, offering greater thigh control of the bicycle.

The central channel of the saddle is an uncommon characteristic because of its dimensions: almost a whole hand can be put in there and this prevents crushing of the anus, prostate, venae pudendae, deep dorsal vein and artery of the penis, scrotum and testicles in men, and the labia majora and minora and the clitoris, in women.

The length of the bars makes installation particularly easy on practically any combination of frame/saddle pillar.

Selle SMP Composite Bicycle Saddle Features:

  • Frame - AISI 304 tubular steel
  • Weight - 200g

Rated 5 out of 5 by The best a man can get. It may look like a razor blade but, for me, it's the best saddle I've ever owned. I've am a life long cyclist and have tried dozens of saddles over the years. The shape is similar to the original plastic Concor saddle I had in the 80's but this is better. Admittidly it takes a few months to get use to, it's a case of getting your sit bones toughened up as this saddle has NO padding. Once you are up to speed you will not look back. I have had mine for 4 years now and ridden many long distance audaxs, PBP,LEL, without getting any saddle sores or numb nuts. Perhaps it's because I ride a more relaxed riding position, mostly on the tops, so can't say if it's as comfortable racing/ on the drops. Anyway I've ridden 5,000 miles/ 8,000km a year on this little beauty and love it. As comfortable at the end of a long ride as at the start. 14 February 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Most comfortable saddle I've owned I've had it for 2 weeks and ridden > 300k on it, including 170k in one go. It is without a doubt the best saddle I've ever had. I didn't realise how bad my previous ones were until I used this one. 04 June 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Another pain machine.. This is my fourth Saddle and I still get numb legs. I can´t understand how anyone can find this comfortable. My bum bones lie on the ridges of the saddle that are supposed to give better motion, maybe, but you end up pressing so hard against your bum bones that it stops the circulation and after two miles I already had numb feet. Anyway, I must have a weird body construction although I am 6ft1 and athletic built. Pretty normal for my height. Nevertheless the build quality is excellent which is why I give it 3* but for me its way too painful to use. I will look for one of those Gel soft saddles see if they work but if you are my height and build I do not recommend. 18 November 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by A New Level of Comfort I thought my San Marco Aspide was comfortable but the Selle SMP "Composite" has taken comfort to a whole new level. Not only is it comfortable, but I feel good about riding it knowing that it's minimizing the damage to the 'equipment.' My highest recommendation. 09 May 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by excellent saddle, highly recommended I now have one of these on my hybrid bike for the road and an SMP Evolution on my MTB and I am extremely happy with them. After getting back on the bike after many years my biggest and most concerning problem was with the dreaded NNS (numb nuts syndrome ). Sitting on a Specialized Rival (with the body geometry cutout) for 20 minutes on either bike resulted in pins and needles through the old fella, with these saddles 2hrs in and still no problem. Complaining to my daughters boyfriend at the time who also rides on the Rival, I was told that it was my positioning and the saddle was fine. Not content I purchased one of these and instantly the problem was gone. 23 August 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Worth it. This is a hard saddle, you can knock on it, and the price is a bit of a put-off. But this saddle is very well shaped, putting all the support onto your bones, and the cut-out works well with the sloped beak on the front to protect you from any pressure - especially when on the drops. Great saddle. 12 August 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by beautiful saddle This saddle look much better than the picture. Steep price, but definitely worth every penny. My old saddle SDG Bel.Air RL, was much softer However this saddle is far more comfortable. 07 June 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very good. This seat. suits me very well. I have an aggressive posture on the bike. with this seat I'm sitting comfortably no matter how much I'm lying forward. what is important to remember is to set the saddle in the correct length and height. 08 April 2010
