Tale of two saddles here, bought it two years ago, used it for a year, then changed it for a Charge Spoon, got saddle sores on long rides(90 miles plus)thought about a Specialized Ronin and noticed that the rear sloped upwards, checked out images of the SMP on the web and guess what,it's the settup thats so important,as the other reviewer says see there website, the trick is to have the middle of the saddle level to the ground,we are talking tilting it forward up to an inch, not adjustments of a couple of mm. It seems counter intuative a first,(like most people I used to use a spirit level)but oh boy the difference, it becomes what all the advertizing says it is.I,ve given it four stars because theres no such thing as the perfect saddle but one that is most comfortable I,ve had, should come with instructions though.

This is just as comfortable as it looks. However, it is SUPER wide. It chafed my thighs most uncomfortably. This is one of the biggest of the selle smps that a reasonable person might put on a bike. I traded it in for a minimalist forma which is considerably thinner. If you can ride with a wide saddle, this is the one for you, its like sitting in an easy chair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Try the Extra instead...
Purchased this and the SMP Extra for comparison. The Hybrid is a touch lighter. Both are pretty much the same width at the back but the Extra is actually narrower around the nose area back to about halfway but a good few mm so it's the one I would go for every time.
My favourite saddle but it's not a magic silver bullet cure for all saddle pain. I get very little and it goes very quickly but there isn't any substitute for getting miles in hardening up the ol' behind...

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous AWESOME!!
This saddle is the most comfortable i have ever owned by far!
I use it on my commute to work (between 80 to 100 minutes one way) without the need for padded knicks. It takes a bit of time to get into the perfect position (read the selle smp website for set up tips) but once set it is the best, seriously it is a revelation. I use a carbon railed Selle SMP Forma on my road bike. It too is great. I just wish they made some models with tougher/kevlar sides so I could use Selle smp on my mtb.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous no more pain
I used to have a Fizik Plateau saddle on my Commençal Meta 5.20 enduro bike, which used to give me, let's say, involuntary anesthesia after 30-45 mins uphill. I changed it for this saddle for that single reason and the Hybrid has fulfilled 100% of its mission. After a few weeks getting used to, no more pain, no more need to stop to defreeze, can continue climbing uphill for hours and hours. Excellent invention. Why other people still use normal saddles is a mystery to me. Have had no build quality issues yet after 3 months.
