Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 18 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice smooth shifting Bought this as replacement with to my broken Shimano 5600 lever. Works great with Shimano 105 5600 front d, rear d and ultegra bake caliper. 17 August 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent mid range STI Lots of trickle down features means this will be a hit with many price conscious buyers. It has pedigree and will work for at least 50k miles if treated right. My only issue is the gear changes are a bit sticky - probably due to tight bend radius coming out of shifter. This problem may bed itself in. 01 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fine Shimano as usual Good value and function if you cannot afford Ultegra etc 22 July 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by All good, just like the originals.. Oh wait, they are originals !! Really weird how/that my originals failed.. A pin inside broke and apparently impossible to fix so I needed a replacement set.. Bummer, and an expensive fix, but all good, they work as well as the originals.. Obviously as they are the same thing.. 20 July 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 Smooth shifting at a great price Replacing existing 105 group set that has lasted 5000 miles from new before I decided the replace - great value with the discounts at Chain Reaction 31 May 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent performace - great price Works perfect with my Ultegra 10 speed. Surprisingly smooth and exact shifts 19 May 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Typical Shimano Quality If you want quality then you have to pay for it. These shifters do everything they are suppose to do and they do it very well, but this is nothing unusual from Shimano. I have bikes with SRAM and Camp shifters, I have a bike with Durace Di2 and Ultegra mech, all work well and perform as they are supposed to. The 105 shifters are a good quality at a budget price for that quality, shifting is effortless and smooth, and in my opinion tuning them in is simple and less fiddly than the SRAM APEX shifters which are of equal competition to the Shimano brand. I have had no miscommunication between shifters to the cassette and chain rings, which when climbing and under extreme load shifters will let you know if they are not happy about moving up or down, generally with loud clicks and more effort on the change. The 105's on the Trek coupled with 105 derailleur and crankset have proven that they handle this pressure and handle it with ease. Shifting is positive and the trim works well. In summary, you can spend less money and have a shifter to do the same job, but it wont be of the same quality or with the same confidence that you will get out of these. The 105 shifters do everything that you need them to do and they do it very well. Matt 23 February 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice I replaced my 5600 shifters, they work nice, only complain is that there is no plastic cover in the inner side and the mechanism is exposed. Kit comes with cables. 15 February 2014

Answer:
Yes you can use these shifters with your Dura ace, as long as they are 10speed of course.
Most of Shimano's gear in 105, Ultegra and DuraAce is interchangeable as long as you match the gear ratio, 10spd 11 spd etc, Happy riding -Matt

Looking to upgrade 10 spd Tiagra Levers

Would I need to replace the existing cables? Are the internal cables that are included with the levers both for gear and brake? What size outer cables would you use?

Answer:
The internal cables are for gear only, you would need to buy the brake cables and the outers for both separately. I would recommend replacing all cables considering you are pulling the system to pieces anyway, and the cost to replace all cables is minimal in the grand scheme. Yes this will help with shifting as new cables will not have any burs or wear from use.
Your outer cables should match the inner cables and generally the sizes match the application. Brake cables are a little thicker than gear cables. You can buy all sorts of colours for your outers though I prefer the black. Happy riding-Matt

You can use your old cables/casing if they are ok. Only gear INNER cables are included in the box, no brake cables, no casing.

Answer:
The shifters are supplied with gear inner cables only so you will need to purchase new brake inner cables.

Depending on the condition of your existing cables you may not have to change the outer cable. Below are the list of items I would recommend.

Answer:
If your drive train is currently a 9 speed system you cannot use 10 speed parts.

Mixing speeds will cause indexing problems and you will not get a correct shift.

I have a 5600 group set fitted to my bike and the left hand lever has failed, probably age related, can I fit the newer 5700 levers without upgrading the derailleurs?

Had a good look into this for your self and the 5700sti levers and the 5600 dérailleurs will work absolutely fine together. The new levers are an improvement so you will feel like you have upgraded your bike with this repair.

Can I use these levers with Tiagra FD and RD?

Was wondering if it is possible to use these 5700 shifters with my existing Tiagra 4600 2x10 speed FD & RD? I would also like to know what benefits could come from this? (Better shifting, more durable, etc.)

Answer:
Yes, you can use any of the Shimano 10sp Road shifters and Road derailleurs together so using 105 levers with Tiagra derailleurs should be fine. Generally speaking, the difference between the groups is weight, stiffness of shifting mechanism and materials used. The 105 shifters will be slightly lighter and a little 'sharper/ more responsive' than the Tiagra levers.

Answer:
Going by the spec on your link, you are running a Triple ring system, so these Double shifters will not be suitable. You can opt for a Triple shifter Shimano road set, such as the 5703 below.
