Rated 4.9 out of 5 by 7 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great, but not perfect I purchased these as a pair, which isn't currently listed by CRC. I'm comparing these with Sora and Dura-Ace 9 speed +ve points: Looks - I love the black and dark silver finish Snappier gear changes. Lovely click to the main lever movement Lever angle - the SRAM copied outward curving level design is definately better and safer Lever shape - there's a nicer flat section at the bottom that makes shifting up more comfortable Brake performance is definately higher with these, as a guess I'd say %30 over my Sora levers -ve points: Hood shape a bit square next to the bar. Despite the main body being longer than my older levers, it doesn't seem to provide as much space to rest your hands. Exposed internals - this is a really odd design. I love mechanics, so quite like looking at moving parts, but it's odd when you're climbing out the saddle and can feel all the bits under your fingers. At least it will give you something to fiddle with on long boring rides ! I fit my bike on the roof-rack so worried about flies and bits going into the internals of these levers. 03 October 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by great product upgraded my bike from tiagra to 105.the difference is very noticeable and well worth the money. Great looking product and very smooth shifting. NO MORE CABLES OUT FRONT TOO!! 28 August 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by shimano 105 shifters absloutely brilliant shifters plus the excellent delvery and the very good price make these a great buy the only gripe is in the description it says it comes with silicon greased cables this is only the inner gear cable no outers or brake cables but overall very happy 22 November 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Im not a road biker by trade. Im more Freeride/Downhill. But I decided to build a road bike recently and went all Shimano 105 drivetrain. Everything about 105 is great its light and shifts perfectly. I have ridden Ultegra and did not notice much difference. Its just like in MTB I always used Deore XT and found XTR overated. Anyway buy this stuff its great! 01 July 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Braking is not an issue! All those saying that braking isn't as good please note. Shimano altered the actuation ratio for the 700 series sets (5700, 6700...). These levers should be paired with the same series caliper or the ratio is incorrect and not enough cable will be moved i.e. you need a 5700, 6700 etc. caliper! 23 June 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by 105 levers a friend of mine was trying to get me to buy campag, but i wanted to stay with shimano, have heard people saying that breaking is not to good but i have covered many miles and have had no problems at all, maybe they are taking notice of the hardcore testing that magazines do. 30 March 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good Replacement for worn out 7800s Was figuring out what to do with the shifting on a worn out 7800 equipped bike. This was just the ticket. The brakes do not work as well, just like they said, but they work well enough. The chain dropping lever feels a bit further and fuzzier, but not enough to make any difference. Extremely happy with this purchase. 15 November 2010

Will these work with a 4600FD

I have a Shimano 4600 groupset and would like to change the levers to ones with concealed cables. Will the 5700 levers work with my front and rear changers?

Answer:
As these levers are also 10-speed; they will be fine to run with a 4600 groupset.

Answer:
I'm pretty sure these levers will work with any Shimano 10 speed road gear system. I've certainly mixed and matched Shimano 9 speed gear components many times, i.e. Tiagra, Sora, 105 and Dura-Ace gear components all work together. The newer hidden cable design makes no difference to the compatibility with existing components. The cable pull ratio hasn't changed at all.

Answer:
Yes, look at the following page:

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/shimano/gear-shifters

Somewhere in the list you'll see '5700 lever' which can be either the Right or Left side.

Answer:
Not sure exactly which item you're looking at, but the following item is priced per lever:

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/shimano-105-5700-double-10-speed-sti-lever/rp-prod50464

You can see that you have to select either Right or Left before being able to add it to the basket.

If you want a pair, you need to choose the item that says 'Set' in the title, as per the following:

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/shimano-105-5700-double-10-speed-sti-lever-set/rp-prod87746

They're very nice by the way.

Answer:
Hi Didier,
Unfortunately this will not be possible... the Shimano 105 5700 Levers' would not work on a 7 speed system as the 10 speed shifters would be set up for the 10sp Spacing/Pull Ratio.

If you wanted to use these Levers you will need to upgrade the Groupset on your frame to 10sp.
