Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by PRICE Great price !!!!!!!!!and quality!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 28 February 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Unpretentious, reliable I like most about shimanos is that they always have a guide that tells you everything you need to set up properly. I like it that their rear derailer designs consider proper chain length with the chain running along the jockeys - which is how the chain actually runs in use. Does it help cut chain noise? Maybe.. It does sound quiet everywhere in the range. 27 January 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by No problems Using this with Tiagra STis, a 105 chain and a CX50 crankset. No issues other than the 10 speed noise. That said, it doesn't have any advantage that I can detect over the 2013 9-speed Sora setup on my tourer which was significantly cheaper or the 10 year old 105 9-speed on my other road bike. If I was doing the build again I'd probably just save money, use matching Sora with a compact and live with the gearing. 09 December 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good for price Really good for price even better at chainreaction prices smooth shifting 01 December 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by 105 has come a long way I hadn't built a bike with 105 in about five years. right from the start the finish quality for this really impressed me. 105 of today is Dura-Ace of just a few years ago. The black color looks great on my bike. Set up is easy, adjustment easier, and operation is flawless. 11 November 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Shimano Product Precise Shifting I am a mountain biker. But I decided to build a nice road bike for fitness and commuting. I decided to go 105 as it seemed to be a good contrast between quality and price. After building my bike with 105 all over its been superb. I have since had the chance to ride Ultegra and I did not see any huge difference. Strong, light, looks good. Ticks all the boxes. Building my road bike with CRC was a great success. I got an amazing deal and built my bike for around £1200. To buy a bike with my specs from a cycle shop you would be looked at £2500+. Very Happy 27 October 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Does what it says on the tin... I was hunting around for this Derailleur after for a while. This item was exactly what I needed and CRC was where i found it - even though I had searched high and low elsewhere. great job CRC! 02 October 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Este modelo só serve para 11 velocidade O modelo 105 5700 10 é perfeito, mas o modelo 105 5701 não funciona bem, com 10 velocidade, Espero que a Shimano lance um STI compatível com Cambio 105 5701. 17 August 2013

Answer:
This range of cassette will be fine with this derailleur if used with a Compact crankset; however for a Traditional Double or Triple crankset, the Medium Cage will be required.

Will this Shimano 105 5701 10 Speed Rear Mech be compatible with my existing set up? The bike is a Specialized Tricross Elite Disc 2012. Running it's standard Tiagra 10 speed rear mech, with the following Tiagra Chainrings 50/39/30 and Cassette Shimano Tiagra, 10-speed, 12-30.
Thanks.

Would this GS rear mech work with a triple chainset 50/39/30 and a 11/28 cassette?
If this wouldn't work because of the front tooth difference/chain wrap what shimano rear mech would work and would it have to be a long cage for my Sirrus pro 2007?

I'm looking to replace my sora 3400GS rear mech. My bike has a FSA triple crank, sora 3400 shifters, a kmc 9 speed chain and a sram 9 speed cassette. I'll need the long cage but was just making sure a 10 speed rear mech would be compatible with my 9speed setup as I've heard and read conflicting things on this.

Thanks!

Answer:
A 10 speed rear mech is obviously not recommended to be paired with 9 speed components, but it can be, all you need to do is set the limit screws on the mech to a position where it will only move between the 9 gears on your bike.

Answer:
All i can say is that there are no options for a 10 speed 11-32t cassette on CRC at the moment, the shimano ultegra 6700 offers 12-30 and that is as "low" as you will find on here, if you really want to 'lower' your gearing you could always think of getting a smaller chain-ring up front..?
