Rated 4 out of 5 by Does not come with bottom bracket I was a bit disappointed that the crankset came without a bottom bracket. I've had Deore ones before from CRC and it came with the BB. Also didn't come in Shimano packaging, it was in a plain brown box so could be OEM rather than aftermarket. Obviously both have been done to cut costs, but think description could have been a little more accurate. Nice crankset nonetheless. 07 July 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by ottima guarnitura niente da invidiare ai prodotti di maggior livello, semplice il sistema di montaggio, ottimo materiale. 12 June 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 Black finish starts to rub off easily Great chain set but I replaced by silver 5700 chain set with the black 5750 version. After 2 rides the black is starting to wear to show the silver finish underneath so maybe should have just gone with the silver version in the first place ! 03 June 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by CRC cannot be beat 4of 5stars only because it is not the absolute best set but it is for value. Just ordered from the USA for a price that no local or online dealer could touch. The set will complete my 105 group after replacing the company brand parts that keep the price down on new bikes. A word to those shipping over seas. Be patient. The low price, really low, is worth a two week wait. 08 May 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great quality at an affordable price I brought this crankset and bottom bracket for a classic steel frame build up, the quality is great and it looks a treat. 01 May 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good price, good quality. Thank you in trouble. Good price, good quality stuff to get happy. It will be used frequently as a good product and continues to hope to get from you. 01 May 2014

I have a 2004 model Ultegra eqipped Avanti Corsa I wish to change to 105 Compact. The bottom bracket is Octalink which I could either keep or am happy to replace as it has done 27,000 km. Just need to know if I need to order a different bottom bracket and if so what brackets will fit - 105 quality or better.

Yes, this crankset requires a Shimano Hollowtech II bottom bracket, it is listed below along with the tool required to install it.

If you do not already have one then an Octalink removal tool will also be required (also listed below).

It should be fine; the Road Hollowtech II brackets all run the same size and width of axle, so the Tiagra bracket should accept your 105 chainset without any trouble.

Do I need spacers?

I recently bought the shimano 105 crankset FC-5750 to replace my shimano FC-R565, have fitted it and finding that the drive side crank is clashing with the outside of the front derailleur cage when at the top of the stroke. Is it normal to need to adjust the front derailleur or do I need spacers to move the cranks out to where the old ones were?

Answer:
The FC-R565 ran the BB4600 (Tiagra) bottom bracket, so the 105 5750 should be a straight swap. When fitting a new chainset it is considered good practice to set up your front derailleur again, to ensure positioning and shifting is as efficient as possible.

shaft size Shimano and FSA differ but slightly. If your frame is press fit, then put her in the carriage of a press fit Shimano, and problems with the installation will not.

Answer:
This item doesn't come with BB included and is not compatible with a Deore or XT BB. You need to purchase a road BB 68/ 70mm design for this chainset, something like SKU179215. If you are looking for a more long-lasting BB, then you should try item - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/....

Hi,
I would like to know if I can substitute this chainset or maybe the ultegra one for the one on my 2011 Trek madone 3.1. My bike currently has a sram apex 50/34 compact chainset. Do I need to change my bikes bottom bracket to accomodate the 105 or ultegra crankset?
Thanks.

Answer:
SRAM crankset's use a GXP bottom bracket which is not compatible with the Shimano Hollowtech II corresponding crankset's.

There are Shimano Road Pressfit options available (which are not included with Road crankset's) to run the crankset's on which are relative the the frame's bottom bracket shell width.
