Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 27 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Basic It's a basic piece of kit, but reliable and stands the test of time. I'm not convinced that buying a more expensive rear mech is any better, it's more about the tuning than anything. It's a rear mech, and it works exactly how it should. 13 September 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by The too fragile. At me this rear mech held on 1.5 months then collapsed, I don't advise it to take anybody. The money spent in vain. 28 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Lightweight Smooth Shifting A Shimano rear Mech for under a tenner is a bargain and gives very smooth shifting even at this Price point as RRP is £25 so for one component you can't go wrong.Highly recommended. 25 August 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great for my recreational XC riding. First off, I have a Trek 3500 Disc. The group with the bike was Shimano Tourney (rear and front derailleurs, front chainwheel, SRAM rear cassette). The shifting was already clunky when I first got it, but I used it for a year and decided to replace everything. One replacement was this rear derailleur. I used it for about two weeks, road and mountain biking, it is pretty decent for a recreational rated rear derailleur. It does the job for my type of riding (commuting, light XC), so that's what I'll recommend it for. Pair it with it's designated parts like me and everything will run smooth. 28 July 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Shimano Acera M360 7-8 Speed Rear Mech, quality top quality best priced derailleur, would recommend this product, as described n very very fast delivery. very impressed much cheers, braw 09 July 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by OK I wouldnt go out of my way to purchase these but they are ok for a standard bike, they look cheap, they shift slow, but on a positive + they are accurate 08 July 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by does the job flick and forget once set up they have been accurate, just adjust for cable stretch after a few weeks, (don't need any coaxing). 02 June 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by This product is affordable Easy installing and adjusting. Works well and very affordable. 28 May 2014

Due to the difference in chain width; a 5-speed system would not be compatible with this derailleur.

Answer:
yes i would say as long as you get the correct cage length and gears and a bracket for frame to derailuer as the one you have has the link to frame built in.. it will be a nice cheap replacement, iv had no problems with my one, adjust it correctly n don't force it to operate

Answer:
Any chain with 6/7/8 speed compatibility:
KMC Z72, KMC X8.93 or X8.99 (decent)
Shimano Altus or Acera HG chains (Best)
SRAM PC830, PC850, PC870, If you're using a SRAM cassette*
Wipperman Connex (decent)
or any other 8 SPEED chain you will find.
6/7/8 speed chains are normally around 3/32 (inside measurement) of an inch by 1/2 of and inch (outside).
So don't use a 9, 10, or 11 speed chain because they are different sizes.
Use YouTube to size your chain.

Bike gear fitting

You have recommended this product by e mail, thank you.
Please can you explain if this product will fit to this particular fitting on my bike? (see photo) There is no indication of how this Rear Derailleur fits onto the bike. The alloy bracket you see is damaged and will need replacing which I have added to my basket.
Will this fitting be OK or do I need another bracket type.
Thanks

Answer:
All rear dérailleurs use the same size bolt to fit to frames. The Acera rear dérailleur will fit the frame hanger your bike uses with out any problems.
