Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect and great price too Great chain, good price and quick delivery, CRC wins again. 10 May 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by 03 February 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Quality Chain -But "Quick" Link Not so Quick Bought this Chain on a Thursday Night, arrived Saturday Morning. So far, very impressed. I bought this chain for my 1970s Dawes Galaxy that I am rebuilding. The chain came pre-lubed which was good, and I had to remove a few links with a chain tool as it was a bit long. I was intending on using this "Quick Link" from Shimano, as I thought it would be easier to remove the chain when it has worn out and needs replacing. After following the instructions, trying what other people on the internet suggested and lots of Brute force, this "Quick Link" would not budge and clip together. An hour later, still nothing. I gave up, added a link back in with a chain tool and fitted the chain the Old fashion way. Now the chain is on, it seems great, runs smoothly and shifts brilliantly with the friction down-tube shifters. Overall a good quality chain from the big "S" but , frankly, the "Quick" link is utterly useless. 22 October 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good chain...Great service! Doing up old 21 speed GT triple triangle mountain bike for Grand-Nephew...Ordered Friday, delivered early next day...Service like this cannot be bettered! Chain came with quick-link...so easy to fit...already had chain seperation tool (from when I was a lad) to release old chain. Easy to follow instructions. Well pleased. 02 March 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Good value, but not the easy to use/tool free quick link connector I expected/wanted; as suggested in the detail. 20 January 2013

Answer:
It's quite common to need to shorten any chain when first fitting it; they are usually supplied as 114 or 116 links but it's quite rare to need a full 116 link length.
To size your chain you can follow the steps below:

1. Remove the old chain.
2. Shift the front derailleur over the largest chainring, and the rear derailleur on the smallest cog.
3. Thread the new chain through the front derailleur. It is not necessary to thread the chain through the rear derailleur at this point. Simply wrap the chain around the largest front chainring and around the largest rear cog.
4. Pull the chain tight, and note the closest rivet where the two could be joined. Keep in mind a chain can only be joined by mating inner and outer plates.
5. From the closet rivet, lengthen the chain by counting over an additional two rivets (two links), which is a distance of one-inch. Cut the chain at this point.
6. Remove the chain from the bike and thread it through both derailleurs and join the ends.

NOTE: If the bike chain uses a "master link/ powerlink etc", it is necessary to account for the link. Install one-half of the master link on one side of the chain. Size the chain by cutting the other end of the chain.

Answer:
You will have to see how it fits on the bike, a good rule of thumb is use the largest front chainring and the smallest rear sprocket and choose the number of links needed so that the rear derailleur points straight to the ground. This always works for me, hope it helps.

Answer:
Hi, as the chain is Shimano, it's a known fact that they don't make quick links but the chains do come with a shimano "Jointing pin" where you push the old pin out entirely and insert the one provided in the packaging or can be bought separately and snap off the excess with pliers, shimano say it's a stronger connection and I do believe it as you can't get them back in if split at the pin. I did buy some KMC links to suit 8 speed and they didn't fit but Sram ones do at a push, I bought some quick link pliers to help but they did come apart on the ride for me so I tried the solid pin and haven't had any issues!
