Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous I didn't really have any difficulty fitting and tuning the unit. It changes crisply and reliably. Catches slightly at the extremes of an 8 speed cassette but not enough to be a problem. Didn't really understand the diagrams either on the sticker or the leaflet but as I don't normally bother with instructions (not too clever, just too impatient) and I have fitted other ones previously this didn't matter. Usual top notch service from CRC.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous I've had this mech fitted to my bike now for over 2 years, covering 11,000 miles. It runs super sweet even now, change the cable every 1,000 miles and its fine, I clean it once a week as im now doing 155 miles a week on average but its still fine. Its done many off road rides and been caked in mud and been fine. The cable never goes slack after I have taken up the bed in cable stretch. I am a Halfords cycle mechanic aswel though so it has been setup correctly. Its running on a 22/32/44 setup at the front and 28/11 rear and it never rubs on the cage in any gears. I would recommend to others for similar high milage riders.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous Review based on having two bikes that came fitted with this front mech. Cage goes slack quite quickly. Also - generally p*ssed of with Shimano for useless labelling of EXACTLY WHICH FRONT MECH MODEL it is. Why can't they indicate this on the band that goes around the frame ... ??

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Been using this front mech for over four years and never had a problem with it. Easy to set up and works just as it should. Well worth the money!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous Good and solid if well looked after, kept clean from Dirt, and not constantly run when it is in need of an adjust. The removeable screw on the deralieur arm is really good for quick removal and installation.
As for the set up, I found it just as easy as any other shimano mech.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous Part of a full deore groupset, including M535 Hydraulic brakes, this mech has always done what it says on the tin. Cheap, reliable, and if looked after and set up properly, bulletproof.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous I have recently upgraded to the M760 XT version (£23 on CRC.com) after my old Deore broke. The design of the XT model is much better, overall a more solid component and much less likely to break or develop play so easily. Well worth the extra money over the Deore/LX deraillers, but if you dont intend on doing that much biking at £14 the Deore still does the job (just not for as long).
