Rated 4.9 out of 5 by 16 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by excellent product at great price put these on my Giant XTC to replace the mph brakes and there fantastic 11 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Brakes Got front and rear brake when they were on offer and I am amazed at how good they are. The cables are nice and long so make sure you get them with olives since they are free anyway ;) These also need a little time to burn in but in all fairness they are really good. 10 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent product I bought these to replace my old Avid Juicy 3 as per a previous review I agree its like night and day they are superb I use for XC and run them on 203mm Magura rotors F & R, one finger braking, lovely precise feed back & powerful much more confidence on fast or slow downhills now, price and quality can't fault them obviously durability will have to see, cam on the brake lever requires cleaning and greasing every ride 'in my opinion' but I do this anyway, Highly recommend brakes. 09 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by superb brakes I just love those tiny one finger levers....these work well straight out of the box.fitted them easily with no problems, they are a bit noisy at first but most brakes are and the rear cable is so long built for a tandem I think lol..apart from that nice set of brakes shimano....I got these for my going to work bike....but gonna get some for my best bike now. 01 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Value Bought these as a replacement for my Tektro's, good progressive braking, like the two finger leaver. Would have liked Leavers to be alloy assume that's the difference between the XTR and price! 23 February 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Works just as the brand promised I weigh 86kg, beginner trail enthusiast. This brake will handle your entire bike and you (plus a couple of extra kg weight in water and tools) when you attempt that steep and slow downhill. Really feel super safe with this brake. Gone for at least 5 trail rides with these, and countless park connector rides. Its like a workhorse - simple and reliable. If you are tight on budget, and looking for a jolly bit of fun, this will work. Never needed anything else extra luxurious. 15 February 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing value at twice the price! Bought these brakes to replace my Avids which kept seizing up. They feel so nice. So simple to fit. They look lovely despite being very cheap. The levers are just right for me. Combine these with xt or ice tech rotors and you're away! No need to spend hundreds on brakes, get these. I used these on my DH bike too without any problems. 15 February 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product These are the best brakes vfm wise. They work brilliantly and i can't see why people spend more money on fancier brakes when these work so well. Recommended 06 February 2014

Rotors

I am converting my brake system from the Avid Juicy 3 brakes I have that came fitted to my Specialized Rockhopper when I bought it, to these brakes. Will I need to change the rotors currently fitted that came with the Juicy 3s and, if so, what rotor is best with these brakes?

Answer:
I used 203 Magura discs F & R so your 160/185 rotors if that's what you have would be fine just be careful you may need to change the mounts to Shimano I just had to do the front IS mount to get the pads/caliper to line up with the disc correctly.

Answer:
If you plan to shorten the length of the hose prior to fitting the brakes then you will require the replacement olives.

I would always suggest you purchase the olives in case you ever need to trim or replace a hose.

Answer:
Using the same rotor is most instances will not be a problem; although the rotor would have to be spaced correctly for the caliper it will be used with.

Taking the rotor size into account in relation to how far the caliper will be pushed out from the frame (mount adaptor) is also important.

Answer:
Until recently, I used to have a mechanical disc brake system on my bike. The answer is yes, you can install hydraulic brakes using back the same disc. No need to change the disc unless it is warped by your mechanical brakes. (unlikely)

However you need to be aware- is the gear shifters on your handlebar is an independent brake lever (not those combined or integrated gear shifter+brake lever) if no, then sadly you might need to change both sets of brakes + both sets of shifters in order to work
