Rated 5 out of 5 by 05 January 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor construction I just installed these and for some reason my front shifter was not working. The needle was stuck on "High" and I couldn't shift down. I had to open the shifter up and unscrew everything until I could access the indicator needle. The problem was the needle was too long for the indicator and everytime it got to "High" it got stuck at the top of the plastic. I had to take out the needle and cut a few millimeters off for it to work. The whole assembly also looked very flimsy. Beware when buying these! 18 October 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent shifter for the money Purchased the Shimano LX STI brake & shifter combo (a few months ago) for my Scott sub30 which I converted from 8 to 9 speed. As some reviews have stated, i found them easy to use (which may also be due to having a 7 speed dual control levers on my Carlton road bike). I left the thumb levers on for the 1st ride and found they got in the way (on both sides) so removed them and fitted the blanks. I found using the levers a lot easier without them. Shifting up & down is positive and reliable and there have not been any false shifts, no braking issues either. I can just change down from the the bar ends as i can flick the lever up with the end of my finger but i cannot change up from them. As some reviews have stated to flick-up & press down to change gear consistently you may need to experiment with the position of the levers on the handle bar i found about 50deg down from the horizontal position was right for me. Only issue (if you use the right side gear position indicator window) is with using a conventional rear mech (i use an old 9 speed XT), so the display indicator moves in the opposite direction (indicates your in a low gear when you're in a high gear and vice-versa). Despite that it's an "excellent shifter for the money". 06 June 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by 9 speed upgrade Converted my Trek 7.2fx Hybrid from 8 to 9 speed using the LX STI shifters, these are fab to use no false gears just smooth gear changing, with the M590 hollowtech crank and M580 front and rear derailleurs,KMC chain and Sram cassette, the Trek has been transformed. All component upgrades including the Campag wheelset were purchased from CRC. 05 April 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Lx sti shifter the best I've ever used. Bought these shifters for my Trek 7.2FX,which has been updated to a 9 speed Deore groupset a bit tricky at first but once you have mastered the shifting they are excellent, gear changing is positive and fast, for €24.00 a real bargain. 17 March 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best shifters ever Originally I owned a single right hand version of these shifters with a hydraulic brake a number of years ago and thought it was the best shifter I've ever used, after a stint of running SRAM drivetrain I ultimately switched back to Shimano and now run mechanical discs as well. After over a year of trying to get these shifters at a reasonable price I jumped at the chance to get them for under £20 from CRC and it's the best change I've ever made to the back. Removed my combination of Avid levers and Deore shifters to replace them with these, and not only do they look a lot more refined and tidy taking up much less bar space though they function better than I remember then, the brake levers give a good solid feel with my avid BB7's and the gear shifters have a really pronounced click particularly when you flick the lever up. I've got these positioned around 2" in from the end of my grips as I found this to be the best position for a comfortable feel on the levers, also have got them angled slightly shallower than I normally have my brake levers due to the need to flick the lever up and down. Anyone that says they can use these shifters/levers from their bar ends obviously either has very long fingers or has them setup in what I would consider to be a "bad position". I found the perfect position for these to be around 2" in from the end of the grips in order to make full use of the leverage and correct lever part for braking, and have them angled at around 45 degrees below horizontal, it's amazing how people don't realise you should position brake levers and shifters so they are in what is the most natural for their hands and position on the bike, how can a bike truly be ridden safely with brake levers horizontal and crammed hard up against the grip end??? 25 February 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Just bought a pair and attached them on my bike, haven't tried them on the trail yet, but so far so good. Quick and brisk, very handy as expected. One down side is that they are a bit bulky and look cheap with sliver plastic parts.A very good product. 20 January 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by these are excellent shifters, used them on my hybrid so unforchantly no off road experience with them. Any rumours of false shifting while braking is lies. I have bought the hydraulic version for my mountain bike but haven't build it up yet. I have used Deore and old XT rapid fires, Deore STI rapid fire, SRAM X-5 and Shimano EZ fire. I liked these the best, the funny levers that attach to the under side to me seemed a bit useless but they are only optional. 30 September 2012

quería transformar una bicicleta de siete velocidades a 9 velocidades. Además de cambiar la rueda, el casette, la cadena, el desviador trasero y las manetas de cambio ¿Es necesario también que cambie el desviador delantero y las bielas?

gracias
