Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 96 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Хорошие педали. 28 July 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by long term buddy solid, shaped and a long term investment. not just a part but essential and base part of a bike. 25 July 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Can't go wrong for the money I ordered these to replace a pair of XTR which had disintegrated after 3 years. I cannot tell the difference when clipped in, and any weight gain over the XTR could easily be offset by losing weight round my waist. I can buy a new pair of these every year for 5 years and still not have paid what I did for the XTR (and they include a pair of cleats as well). 24 July 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by versatile Nice design, adjustable clips work well. Nice to have the versatility to flip them over and ride in normal shoes. 19 July 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Отличные педали! 15 July 2014

Answer:
These pedals are compatible with road bikes although not with SPD-SL (Three Pin Engagement Road Shoes).

These pedals require MTB SPD Shoes (and some Road SPD Shoes) which have a Dual Pin Engagement; the cleats for this system are included with the pedals.

Answer:
If you don't mind the double sided nature of this pedal, they will work well for road, and have contemplated this myself.
If weight is an issue the A530 are lighter [although cost slightly more], but also have a flat side which could be useful in stop start city riding (if clip less pedals are new to you), saying that the large base / flaps of the M530 can be used for short distance riding without having to clip in.

Answer:
They could be used for a road bike; but there are specific road bike pedals which are lighter and have a larger contact area with the shoe. Some people will say that you must have road pedals for a road bike... But you don't have to! The advantage however with these type of pedals is that the pedal can be clipped into from either side (road pedals have to be clipped into on one side only), which may be useful for a beginner to clipped pedals. In all honesty though... you will get used to whatever pedal you choose very quickly... Practice makes perfect. Pedals usually come with cleats. For a SPD system pedal you will need a SPD compatible cycling shoe.

Answer:
The M530 has angular float but not lateral float. Angular float is the sideways motion you can make with your heel before the foot dislodges from the pedal. Lateral float allows the cleat to move sideways along the pedal axis. You can see clearly from the photos of each that that would happen with the Time Atac DH4- the parallel bars allowing the cleat to move sideways; whereas the M530 holds the cleat firmly while allowing the heel to move from side to side. The angular movement is sufficient for most people; you would want to be sure that you needed lateral movement?
