Well, these are brake pads made by Shimano. You can't go wrong with them.

Took a day or so to work in but on day three, blind driver tried to take me off the road, full application of these pads in wet and rain gave me full control and allowed me to avoid injury, will order more purely on this experience.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous Good short term, bad long term.
These pads definitely provides the stopping power regardless of the occasion. Press it down, and you'll quickly stop. The extra 1mm, as others say, compensates for the soft compound's tendency to wear away. It is definitely, pound for pound, one of the top pads out there... However!!!!
In wet weather, you'll find it erodes away a lot quicker than you thought. Plus, after a wet ride, you'd definitely have to wipe the rims clean, if you want the rims to last. These pads will not only erode themselves quickly, but your rims as well. These are not for your expensive "long-life-expectency" rims, but rather entry level, 2 year max-out rims.

I used that for almost one year and if you asked if am satisfied well the answer is yes for stopness but no for maintenance and the reason is simple while I have cycled some very wet days yes it stopped but it finally killed my Mavic Rims.... too much noise after long braking and small aluminum particles all over the rims. On wet driving the problem was not so obvious but if you make the mistake to overuse the brakes you will find yourself how to the rim recycling is going to process I have to change the pads right now

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous I couldn't quite figure out what had happened to the normal insert pads as everyone was just selling these 'severe weather' pads. Turns out Shimano decided to put 1mm extra on the pads and do a bit of marketing spin to sell them.
Anyway, I can't complain because an extra 1mm for the same price simply means they need replacing less frequently. They work as well as always (which is very well) what more can I say - 1mm extra for free from Shimano; that must be a first!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous I agree with Marks comments. These are some great brake pads, works really well in both wet and dry weather. A good buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous The extra thickness means that you may have to adjust the brakes slightly but when they're in...woo-hoo stoppie city...the slightest caress of the brake lever scrubs off speed like a branch through the spokes and they really haul you up on descents. The pads are a bit softer than standard and this gives more feedback at the expense of durability. Highly recommended.
