Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 42 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by This product is really efficient This pedals were bought for my wife's bike. They function really well as they are easy for her to clip in and out which is very important for her. 09 October 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by great pedals This is a pair nice quality pedals, in a very good price. 08 October 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by quality Great quality item and value for money great option for beginner rider. 07 October 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good Peddles For the price i can't grumble. Easy to clip in/out, Didn't hang straight at first but just wiped off that thick lousy grease shimano assemble them with and reapplied with a some weldtite Teflon grease. Hang perfect every time now so no messing about in traffic. 04 October 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent entry SPD SL Very happy with my purchase have recently got into road cycling, and have been using Shimano A530's. Decided to upgraded to these R550's and wish I had of from the start great price and worth every penny top quality. 03 October 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Very brittle The big issue for me is the epoxy body. It's surprisingly easy to break. And it doesn't take an impact to cause this. The arms that hold the cleat catcher is particularly vurnerable . It can snap, leaving you with two thirds of a pedal. It's probably better to stick with the r540 as it is stronger, cheaper and pretty much the same weight. 30 September 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 The least Standard for Newbies I love this product! For newbies who are looking for a racing pedal for starting, i would recommend the R550. When you are really into cycling then you will know what you need, i was using flat with a running before and i am using SPD pedals with SPD shoes (Shimano R064 for my case) and this was my first SPD pedal. Good price for newbies who are testing whether keen on serious cycling or not. For the pricing wise with this standard this would be a good one, no where can be found cheaper from my side, CRC do give good price! The tension and clipping are good as expected from Shimano's product. Have a good day and ride safe! 21 September 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Top value for money road pedals They are flawlessly built, fairly light, easy to install and adjust. They look perfect to me, they work as they are supposed to work, I guess thy will serve me for many years. Totally happy with them, great choice for this price. 16 September 2014

I plan to use these for commuting after dark. Pedal reflectors are a legal requirement in the UK when riding on public roads after dark.

Do these pedals come with reflectors? If not, are Shimano SM-PD58 reflectors compatible?

Hello, when I first put these on they seemed very hard to get out of compared to old SPDs, even with tension on the lowest setting. Should they or the cleats be greased and with what? I have some Muc Off dry chain lube and I was wondering if that would work on them?

Answer:
Generally speaking you shouldn't need to grease the cleat engagement points; it's normal for new cleats to be held in place much tighter than worn ones. You can smear a light coating of grease on the pedal spring if you wish (or if your cleats are rusty). The grease will allow slicker engagement and release when using your pedals, but they should free up naturally with use (I recommend simply resting against a wall somewhere and clipping in and out multiple times; it builds muscle memory and eases the engagement).
