Rated 5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Super Light Weight, Looks Great And Worth Every Penny I really love this kit, I'm a big fan of the Shimano Saint gear and have plastered my bike in it. The looks are very sharp and streamline. Its really light as well as being very strong and durable, resisting a great deal of torment and torture out and about on the trail. Installing the chain guard and guide was very easy to do and went on without any real issues, just make sure if your doing it yourself that you have all the parts you need and have research what needs to be done. My bike had no ISCG fitting so to use this part needed an adaptor which you can get in both 03 or 05 types. 24 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent piece of engineering! The weight is the first thing that caught my attention. The whole kit is feather weight and is a heck of an upgrade from my Blackspire guide. Once installed and ridden, i was surprised at how quiet the chain passes through the bottom guide. Its so smooth i hardly noticed the difference from riding without the guide. I honestly though the mech would be noisy and that id hear every chain link. But not a peep. Personally i think it looks awesome too. Im using the the saint Crank Set and 36T chain ring and i think it looks sweet as a nut! The bash guard is also shockingly light but then half of it is missing. When at the 3 and 9 o'clock position, the guard sits perfectly to protect the chain ring. The only obvious downside to this is if you have your feet the wrong way round. Honestly though, two of these would weigh less than a full ring (well less than the one i was using) so buy two if your worried at all. Individually they are cheap enough. I do have a major criticism. The quality of components sent with the guard plate are utter rubbish! (I'm not allowed to use the word i that i first used to describe it!) I had a nightmare installing the plate after all three star bolts became stuck in the mount. Once locked in, i (very carefully) attempted to remove them and they all became stripped on a single turn! I spent 2 hours trying to remove them and then an extra couple of quid buying high quality nuts to avoid the same issue. Also, to quickly cure any scepticism of my own skills in building bikes. I have NEVER stripped a bolt head before. The kit as a whole is superb and id highly recommend it. But id recommend caution when installing as it went Pete Tong for me in seconds. 21 April 2014

Answer:
This guide is for use with a single ring Saint setup primarily. The guide cage is not wide enough to handle the chain movement.

A few good double ring options are listed below.

Answer:
The CD50 has been designed around the new Saint cranks, but should still work well with other Shimano MTB cranks, yes.
