Rated 5 out of 5 by Sleek design, easy fitting and servicing Reading various reviews on-line regarding the latest Saint kit left me wondering if Shimano had bettered themselves or missed the boat entirely. I took a chance with these, and once I opened the box my scepticism started to disappear - these things really are a work of art and pictures dont really do them any justice. I know at the end of the day they are only brake levers but once you have them on your bike, you too will say the same. Whats more they are around 37grams lighter per lever than the outgoing versions and are even simpler to bleed thanks to the one way bleeding system (just need to remember to buy the Shimano bleed cup, sold on here, if you dont already have one) and the new split clamp makes removal and installation even easier, just a bit of a pain if you have the old levers on first, as you still need to remove grips etc to get them off and put these on. Still in the future things will be better as far as thats concerned. So far riding with them, all is very good and power/modulation is much improved, plus they feel quite comfortable in operation - the dimpled effect on the levers is more for aesthetics though rather than performance in my opinion. Still, top job from Shimano - very well done! 29 July 2012

Answer:
Neither this lever or the caliper are sold with the hose as they are all spare parts.

I would recommend the Shimano hose below for the Saint system.

Answer:
While they would fit, these Saint levers may run a different level of modulation to your original Zee levers, so the effectiveness of your brakes may be compromised.

It would be advised to match the lever with the caliper if possible.

The Olive and Insert are not included with the lever.

Saint lever compatibility with XT calipers.

Do you know if I could use this lever to replace my badly working XT lever and it would be ok with the XT caliper?

Answer:
Yes; this combination would be fine; however due to the variation in lever design, the modulation and power may differ from a complete M810 or M820 setup.
