Rated 2 out of 5 by poor The front pad was baaad. Replaced it with a ceramic version and what do you know. My brake dosnt do goose impresions any more. I thinl titanium backing is useless if the pad compound is rubbish 12 April 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not Impressed Not Impressed either by the power feel or longetivy. If they had the word Tesco on instead of XTR people would judge them more objectively and realise that the breathtaking price is just taking the p**s. There are better and cheaper products on the market, eg Fibrax, Clark, Goodridge. 28 February 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by I've just used these on a local ride (exmoor explorer) that had plenty of long downhills in pretty wet and muddy conditions. The brakes were faultless, offering good modulation even towards the end of the section where you could smell the brakes were on the hot side. Wear rate was acceptable, with these pads getting better as the ride went on. I shall be buying more in the future. 05 August 2008
Rated 5 out of 5 by They may seem expensive, but in my opinion the only pad you should use in your XTR brakes. The Titanium back plates mean the pad deals better with heat build up, and consequently provide more consistent braking on long downhill sections. I have found the resin pads offer consistently good braking performance in all conditions, and are good for about 1500 miles. Personally, I use them in the front calliper all year round. The sintered (metal) pad lasts longer, but they do generate more heat, so you could experience deterioration of performance over a long downhill section. I use these in the rear calliper all year round. The new split pin is a cheap way of retaining the pads. Splitting/ removing the pin is likely to cause damage to the calliper and when they're charging £23 for a pair of pads, I think it's poor to offer such a substandard part. Personally I will be sticking with the screw/ clip arrangement supplied with the brake. 11 January 2008
