Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good value for money Bought to replace a worn out Tiagra chainset when the axle came loose in the drive side arm and was out of warranty. Hoping this latest model does not do the same. Bought on a cost / value basis as upgrading to 105 was just out of my price range with several bikes to keep in service The design of the chainrings has changed slightly since my last one this is a negative in my opinion as the old one looked better. This latest version looks to have less machining to the chain rings that gives the set a more robust look, probably done to reduce the manufacturing costs to keep the retail price down. Also the chain pick up pin is smaller on this than on the previous model, not an issue TBH as I don't get the chain dropping off, just pointing it out. On the whole a happy with my choice just a shame that they had to change the chain ring design. 16 July 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Value in a Pinch I wanted a compact for an up coming Hill Climb race but was short on budget, In steps this guy for the price you cant beat it worked seamlessly with my Utlegra setup, The only thing holding this back is dropping the chain, Ive run this for a few 1000k now and drop the chain a little more frequently than most, but for the money and the climbing advantage I would def recommend to use as a spare or just to try a compact if your not a believer in them 01 July 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great price for a great Chainset The Tiagra chainset does very well is job, for a small price comparing to 105. Very good!!! 02 May 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by All you need in most cases For the cost, this is an excellent chainset. Tiagra is now the sweet spot between value and function as far as Shimano's road range. The only caveat to that is if you're concerned with form or weight to a greater extent than most. The outer chainring on this set is an unusual design and really isn't great looking and the chainset as a while isn't as light as those higher up the range (obviously). If function is your main concern though, this is unbeatable in my eyes. 19 March 2014

Answer:
This chainset is not compatible with a FSA MegaExo bottom bracket. For correct fitment you will require a Shimano Hollowtech II bottom bracket as listed below.

105 front and rear dérailleurs will be fine with this chainset.

Answer:
The Dura Ace 7800 was a Hollowtech chainset so the same BB design will suit the Tiagra 4650 chainset. I would suggest this as a replacement BB - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/... - This will also suit 10 speed drivetrains.

Answer:
The tooth profile on a 10-speed crankset is much narrower than on an 8-speed.

For this reason it must be used with a 10-speed chain and will not be compatible with an 8-speed drivetrain.

Answer:
The length refers to the crank arm length, which is measured from the centre of the pedal insert to the centre of the axle hole (image attached for reference). You can check your previous cranks to see what length they were, and buy accordingly.

Answer:
Yes; the Shimano road chainsets are compatible with each other - they all use variations on the same bottom bracket design so you can fit Tiagra cranks to an Ultegra bottom bracket without any problem.

You will certainly be able to fit this chainset along with your 9 speed drivetrain. You must however use a 9 speed chain.
