Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 43 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent product quality. If you're looking to replace a worn out cassette this is definitely a serious consideration. It's strong with a good clean appearance and gives really crisp gear changes at high speed. The teeth are well made and gives precision. Geared towards racing and training or recreational riding. I bought the 13-25 and it's just brilliant for my cadence level and the spacing of gears is just right. I also bought the Shimano chain which complements this cassette perfectly. Excellent value for money. 15 October 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Un 30 por menos de 15€! 10 October 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cheap lightweight does exactly what it's meant to Ideal replacement for your worn out hyperglide cassette at a bargain price. I have been using this for a couple of months now without any issues. 26 September 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Grate product Grate price, Use on my DH bike and works perfectly :) 24 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by excellent product Decided on this cassette for my Boardman to give me a bit more help on steep hills now the legs are getting older. Fitted easily and worked as expected with Shimano, did not even need to adjust the duraillier. Can ask for nothing more. 18 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Better alternative to the MTB cassettes i've allways used Good Cassette i got the 12-27 for my felt MTB commuter so far so good. The 12t is pushing my luck a bit on size (chain just clears the seat stays) but its compact and has more weight saving relief than the equivalent MTB cassette. It does only just fit on my free hub so does need the lock ring tightening significantly to stop the 12t from slipping a bit. 08 August 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent but a little cheapish I bought this primarily for my winter hack and hill work. The 30T cog does allow for easier climbing but the cassette is heavy when compared to 105 or Ultegra cassettes and not as smooth as them and is a little clunky when changing between some of the bigger cogs but for the price and the climbing ability it offers, it cant really be beaten. 14 July 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Bonn cassette pour parcours montagneux Bonne cassette pour parcours montagneux. Pas très légères mais petit prix et suffisante pour équiper un vélo pour aller en montagne cet été. 03 July 2014

Will this work as a replacement for my existing 9 speed shimano cassette using a shimano sora derailleur ?
Also can you recommend a suitable KMC chain to use with It. I like the "missing link" on these.

Answer:
Hi!
Yes, you can use this cassette with Sora derailleur, as long as your Sora is 9 speed. You can use 9 speed KMC chain if you wish (my bike came with one as a factory standard). I am now using SRAM chain, and there is one from Shimano as well.

Answer:
No, Shimano and Campagnolo freehub bodies/ cassettes run a different spline pattern and so are not cross-compatible. The rear 5 cogs on these HG50 cassettes are riveted together anyway, so you wouldn't have been able to use it. All the Shimano 9sp road cassettes have at least 2, 3 or 5 of the cogs riveted together as one piece.

Answer:
Yes, you can change to 14-25 teeth cassette in this case, what it will give you is smaller gaps between gears, so your cadence will be smoother, and you will be using all gears available to you, so it will be all more power efficient for you.

Answer:
From what I can see Sora Rear Deraileurs would have a Max Tooth sizing of 27t so you would be unable to fit a 30t Cassette on this as it would cause too much stress on the Derailleur Body, you would need to upgrade to find on to suit.
As for the Chain, if you would be changing the cassette you would also be recommended to get a new Chain so that they bed in together.

Answer:
As you have stated, it depends on the specs of your rear mech, you would need an exact model number then look up the info @ shimano tech docs, there will be a line in the specs called "Largest sprocket" . . . i have an older 2001 9-speed 105 RD-5501 which states "27t" as largest sprocket . . .

You will need a new chain if changing from an 11/26t to 11/30t, either that or maybe there is some way to add some extra chain links to increase the chain length to accomodate the larger 30t sprocket . . . if a layman like myself then probably best to go with a new chain to match your new cassette! . . .

I'm not sure what terrain your riding but 30t is a pretty big sprocket on a rear cassette, I've gone the other way from you, I also had a 11/26t cassette but went to an 11-21t for my London commutes but thats with an 30/40/52t 105 Triple crankset, I guess if you ride up gradients alot or don't have a small enough chainring up front a 30t max rear sprocket makes sense . . .

Check out the specs for your rear mech and see what your options are, if it doesn't handle such a large sprocket I would reconsider changing up from a 26t . .

Hope this helps, good luck!

Answer:
Hiya, I've got a newer flatbar Trek FX 7.5 which I had a 9 Speed Shimano 105 Drive train installed (circa 2001) and this cassette worked fine . . . the most important thing for you is make sure you don't buy a 9-speed cassette with a too large sprocket for your rear mech . . .

If your rear mech is an RD-5500 or RD-5501 then it states a max "Largest Sprocket" of 27t so a Shimano Tiagra HG50 11/30t cassette would be out of spec but a 11/25t would be fine . . .

I'm looking at this cassette myself, ideally wanted an 11-23t but for £11.99 the HG50 11/25t is looking like good value for money, maybe worth buying two lol!

Hope this helps, there are other options for you to consider but really as long as you keep the specs of your rear mech in mind you pretty much have no problems . .

Hope this helps, Happy cycling!
