Rated 5 out of 5 by I can really recommend this nice pair of affordable shimanos. Has working well so far and feel much more better than I thought. So thanks crc! 29 May 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by I've had these now for 2yrs i think and what I found happen in one-go on a few spokes is the eyelets cracked where they widen out. So, that had to be sorted. A few spokes have gone snap & the measurements are cranky to the point of LENGTH they are impossible to get the exact length so if your going to replace them get a shorter length rather than TOO long. Also, these are thread-locked or to put it another way - The threads of the spokes are 'TL' = so they don't come loose ! (ideally) & as they are factory built they are by-and-large fit & forget wheels so if they do go wrong I feel the idea behind them is to REPLACE rather than fix, spokes etc... Saying all the above, i've hammered mine (ive 2x pair of wheels) and ride them as the 'training wheels' & they still aint bad...though the backs on its way out...but ok as spare wheels or wheels that'll see you right for a fair while type of thing! 13 May 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Had to buy a new rear wheel for my hybrid and very glad I went for these. Very well built with a quality feel as you pedal your power into the freehub. Minor criticism is that it's VERY hard to fit the wider hybrid-style tyres onto the wheel but these are probably intended more for proper road bike anyway... Very content after about a thousand miles commuting so far... 27 January 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by My first set are what came on the bike. They lasted 18,000 miles and I only trued them once. The only thing that wore out were the sidewalls from me riding on the gritty winter roads around here. That would have happend on any wheel. 20 January 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by CRC sent me these for about 100$CDN sale price back in the early summer.. unbelievable entry level road wheelset.. stiff and true with decent hubs.. of course they are heavy ( skewers 150 gms alone ) but for your first road bike build experience there is no better value and wheelset out there.. there are even style points available with the red and black and have been mistaken on my bike for a much higher quality set.. once I upgrade these will remain my winter and spring training wheel.. buy em. 25 December 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by I own a pair of those since April this year and after 2500km, nothing to say against them! Still true, no sign of wear and above all, spokes aren't breaking like my former wheels (FYI: claud butler levante has bad wheels!!!). I will definitely buy again as spares. 23 November 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by I bought these wheels for my road bike which is used on a daily basis to commute. I do about 50km a day in London. These wheels are excellent: the quality is very good. They are very stable: I went through a few potholes and both wheels are as true as Day 1. The wheels were delivered in a box packed from Chain Reaction Cycles that prevented damage during transport. Many thanks from a happy customer! 16 November 2010
Rated 3 out of 5 by Bought these secondhand for a cheap singlespeed about half a year ago, and have been riding them daily since. At 17,5 stone / 250 punds I'm no lightweight, but the wheels/rims/spokes have held up through pot holes and jumping curbs. They have not needed spoke tensioning and have stayed true. My back wheel is having a few issues. The hubs bearings need to be greased every 2 months or so to stay smooth. The rod for the back wheel QR snapped in two when mounting the wheel the other day. For the price theyre a decent buy. Not great nor terrible. 26 September 2010
