Rated 4.9 out of 5 by 33 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very happy Bought the 12-30T cassette to replace my 11-28T to make the Pennine Hills in my area that bit easier. Pleased that it fit straight on and works well with the Sram Rival short cage derailleur. Was worried that I may need to change to the mid cage model but no need for 30T. I reckon 32T would need the longer cage. 02 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by fantastic It beggars belief that you would want to spend more. Ultegra lasts for ages and works faultlessly. If you want to save a few grams put yourself on a diet. 30 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Superb new product I exchanged my 11x28 for this 12x30 and am extremely pleased that I did. After reviewing the gear spread it was a no brainer. How many times am I really going to use the 11, maybe at 62K going down hill, the 12 will accomplish almost the same. But how many times will I reap the benefits of the 30, many more times than the 11. This also saved me from going to an 11sp system. This gearing is superb for all rec. riders, weekend racers and Fondo/Sportive riders. 23 March 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Cost effective Solution Smooth and cost effective solution the only downside would be the weight 21 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great shifting and value Smooth shifting as expected of Ultegra quality. Will buy again 19 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by i love shimano stuff light, cheap durable. easy on the free hub and looks good on the bike 18 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent value for money Excellent value for money, very light, superb shifting even under load, 17 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by No messing At this price it was in easy reach to replace like for like. I should think about getting another for when it needs replacing again next year. Ordered on Friday, delivered on Monday MORNING. Now that's 5 star service. 03 March 2014

Answer:
Compatibility with this cassette and your drivetrain will depend on the model number of your derrailleur, total drivetrain capacity and the cage length.

Answer:
I would say most road type derailleurs are short cage. They best way to tell is look at the jockey wheels and judge by the gap between the two. Most MTBs are fitted with long cage, does if look like them?

Yes this cassette will work with a Shimano Ultegra 6750 groupset. But if you choose the 12-30t
option you will require a medium cage rear derailleur.

Just bought the Ultegra 6700 cassette (11-28) and thinking of also buying a new chain; I noticed the Shimano Ultegra 6701 10 Speed chain but see there's a 114 / 116 link option - I've no idea which one to get? (I've a FELT AR5).

Answer:
If running a double ring chainset the 114 link length should be sufficient, but if running a Triple ring setup I would err on the side of caution and opt for the 116 link version.

Answer:
Yes; the 10sp cassettes are supplied with their corresponding lockring (it is often either on top or on the underside of the plastic carrier, which it can slip off, so be sure to double check the packaging in case it becomes loose in transit)

Answer:
The Shimano 10sp Road cassettes are cross compatible, so you can replace your Tiagra cassette with an Ultegra if you wish, yes. Keeing the same tooth ratio should make it a straight as well, so your rear derailleur won't need re-adjusted.

Answer:
The most important thing about a cassette's compatibility is the spacing of the sprockets, and any two Shimano or SRAM 10 speed cassettes will have the same spacing.

You should not have to change other components, but I would always recommend getting a new chain when you replace a cassette.

Answer:
You can calculate your gear ratio by dividing the number of teeth on the front cog by the number of teeth on the rear (image below for reference). The closer to 1 the better it is for climbing. A 50-34 on an 11-25 cassette will likely weigh slightly less overall than the same components in a 53-39/11-32 setup.

Answer:
The 53-39/11-32 combination gives you a 6% higher maximum pedaling speed. It also gives you a bottom gear 10% lower than the 50-34/11-25 combination, so in terms of range of gears, it wins at both ends. Other factors to consider though are :

1) Weight - The 50-34/11-32 combination will be mildly lighter

2) Closeness of ratio - Each gear shift on the 50-34/11-32 combination will be closer in ratio, giving you a better chance of finding the 'perfect gear' for any given speed.

Steel sprockets with the larger ones on an alu alloy carrier. You need to take care with the supplied spacer to make sure it goes on the freehub body before the alloy carrier. Check Shimano site for the tech documents pdf.
