Rated 4.9 out of 5 by 12 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Perfect replacement Not wanting to spend too much on the winter bike,Shimano ultegra gives you a quality product at a very reasonable price 21 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Quality part for the price Quality part and you can't go wrong with Ultegra at this price. Fits like a glove and rolls extremely well .... Noticed the difference on first ride out and knocked 3 mins off my circuit time. Only time will tell on endurance but from what I've heard from others who've previously bought this, it's a no brainier really ...... 16 July 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by brilliant bb ultegra, granted a few years old but at that price a steal. Felt the difference from old tiagra bb that gave up after a hammering in the winter. 14 June 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Smooth running and great fit Most modern day bearings are smooth running, and these are no exception. So in my opinion it's the longevity of bearings that really counts. In my experience I get about 6 months use out of external BB bearings, (pretty poor really compared with the old JIS type ones). But this is the first time I've purchased Ultegra and I'm hoping these last longer. Will have to report back. 04 June 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by 700 km and counting. To now i have used this BB for about 700 k on my bike. (Have the Italian thread. 70 mm). It runs smooth and the bearings are still good as new!! Whats nice about this BB is that you can easily change just the bearing on both sides, and not the whole shell. As you can with most of these BB. (24 mm BSA, outboard cups.) So if you want a ceramic bearing, you could replace only those!!! But its a pretty cheap part, compared to other brands. So this i actually just buy the whole shells new. Then you know everything is good. But all this is why i think its a very good kit. 20 May 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wow- Just buy it!! Fitting an Ultegra bottom bracket for £14? Yes please! At this price, you may as well just buy it even for the training bike! This is my first hollow-tech bottom bracket and is used with a Tiagra crankset, it runs nice and smooth and has covered a fair few thousand miles through the recent dreadful weather with no issues so far- I expect it will last a few years of heavy use, a bargain for its cost. Installation with the appropriate tool was also incredibly easy. 23 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by superb bought this as part of a gearset change from Sram gxp to shimano ultegra, all i can say is what a difference all round, smooth does not do it justice really happy indeed 15 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great valus replacement Got this on special offer to replace a Sora BB that wore out far too quickly. So far, so good! 05 April 2014

Currently am using Race Face cranks on a Kona hard tail but want to replace the BB . The shell width is 68mm but am using spacers in the set up. If I use the Ultegra will it affect the chain line?

Answer:
Just use the same amount of spacers and it would be good. (New follows) It also comes with a drawing to set it up after 1, 2 or 3 chairing comboes.. I changed a race face x-type, that came stock on my commencal, With a Shimano Saint. And it works great!! As it should. But i think i would go for the Shimano XT M770-SLX M660 Bottom Bracket instead. If its a Offroad bike. Those are made for MTB. And the Ultegra is for road.

Answer:
The Shimano Hollowtech II and RaceFace X-Type are identical systems, so you should be fine to replace one with the other, yes. External cup size should be the same so your chainline should remain unaffected.

This BB is 100% compatible with FSA Gossamer cranks & a superb alternative to FSA mega-exo BB's. Despite what FSA & Shimano may claim, these parts work fine with one another.

Focus Cayo 2006 BB replacement

I've got a 2006 Focus Cayo, which size BB would I require? I changed the BB in the past but can't remember if it's a simple case of measuring across the bottom of the BB housing?

Answer:
Essentially yes; measuring the width of the shell usually is enough, but you can also check for the direction of the threads - An English thread (68mm wide shell) runs a Left-hand thread on the Drive side, and a Right-hand thread on the Non-Drive side, while an Italian thread (70mm wide shell) runs Right-hand thread on both sides.
Not being a Focus dealer I can't be certain, but I expect it will be running a 68mm English shell.

Answer:
Mesure the BB. If its 68 mm its standard english thread. If its 70mm its italian thread. Its most likely 68 mm.

I need to replace my 6600 68mm/English-thread bottom bracket.
They seem very difficult to get hold of these days.
As long as I select the 68mm/English thread, Is the 6700 compatible?

Answer:
Unfortunately this is not possible due to how SRAM and Shimano have designed their bottom bracket systems.

To run a SRAM bottom bracket with external cups in a threaded frame; the SRAM GXP standard is required.

Answer:
No gxp and hollowtech II is not the samt thing. They look the same, but are not. GXP is 24mm on the driveside and 22 on the non-drive side.
The shimano standar is 24mm all over. You can use mega exo and x-type togheter with hollowtech II. But not GXP.

Will this fit a Trek Madone 3.1 (2012)

I'm intending to change the OE Sram GXP chainset on my Madone 3.1 for an Ultegra 6750 compact. Will this BB be the correct one? If so, which thread? If not, which other BB?
