Shimano Ultegra 6800 Brakes

Braking is one Ultegra 6800′s major advances, evidenced by the inclusion of a revised, standard caliper, and front and rear aero brakes, for which Shimano has also produced 105 equivalents (that’s the BR-5710, part code fans).

The Ultegra aero brake has direct mount options for fork (front) and chainstay (rear) and claims for increased modulation.

Specifications:

  • Two-axle symmetric pivot design

Answer:
The cable pull ratio for the brakes should be the same across these systems so you should be ok to use 105 levers with Ultegra calipers, yes.

Mount type and Shifter compatibilty

Just wanted to confirm that these were the standard caliper(not the direct mount aero version) and that they are compatible with 5700 shimano shifters. One of the pictures shown looks like the direct mount version and the description talks about both.
