Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Shimano Carbon road pedals With new pedals and cleats, even on the slackest setting these are very hard to clip in and out of, I'm hoping they loosen off soon. 17 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by +++++ Can't believe it! Ordered yesterday 4pm on the web. Delivered 11am today in Switzerland. Perfect service. Pedals are fantastic for my all carbon Merida 905 road bike 11 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice Great looking pedal, good size and very easy to clip into compared to previous pedals i've used. Happy. 09 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great pedals Got the 105s on my other bike, these are far superior. 30 March 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Quality item almost the same with Shimano 105 5700 SPD-SL Carbon Road Pedals which is less cheaper. 16 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great value carbon pedals Probably the best carbon pedals on the market for this price. As always top quality from Shimano 07 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by japanese mechanical beauty who knows if i'm producing more watts because of these vs my old 105 pedals. but what i do know is they are beautiful and i feel happy riding on them... 28 February 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by FANTASTICO! Though almost half SRP from CRC, I would still be happy paying full whack for these. They are beautifully made, very light... and have hardly marked in hundreds of miles. There's plenty of plate to transfer power through and they are very smooth to spin... though they're not particularly 'free' in their rotation. I thought they may loosen up, but so far they haven't. Not that it's a problem - the weighting at the back is just right to easily slip your cleat into position when you pull away from the T-junction. I've set mine at the minimum tension, and it's still plenty tight enough for me - I'd feel too nervous to have them fully tight! But disengagement is still quick and easy (though harder than with SPDs). I'm ecstatically happy with them and would highly recommend them to any roadie. 25 February 2014

Answer:
The hex key axle allow you to fit and remove the pedal by the crank arm: I wouldn't say it's mechanically any different as far as effort it concerned, but it certainly looks much neater and allows for a shorter axle, which in turn makes it stronger.

Answer:
I found when I put these pedals on they are just as easy or maybe even easier than using a standard wrench I think that is because it takes the weight better. That Is me and it only really matters if you take them of regularly.

Answer:
No, not at all. (Why do you think they would be?) It's good practice to lightly grease the threads before you tighten them into the crank - I use copper-slip. But they're easy to torque-up with your hex wrench, and just as easy to undo. HTH...

Answer:
There is no weight limit for pedals as far as we are aware; the weight limit for road wheels is 100kg, its unlikely the pedals will fail before the wheels will.

Answer:
Shimano themselves have not issued any weight limits, so I wouldn't treat them any differently from other pedals. (If there was a low limit, then I think the manufacturer would have said.)

I'm not exactly a lightweight - 12-stone - and the pedals are holding up perfectly with me standing on them at the first sign of any hill! HTH

Answer:
The crank arm (edge) to pedal cleat (centre) is around 52mm on these pedals. I don't believe this is different to the previous models (the lower profile mentioned in the description refers to the height of the pedal and it's relation to the centre of the sole of your shoe).

Answer:
I'm not sure what you mean by 'normal', but compared to an R540 SPD-SL, the positioning of the central plate appears identical. Of course, you'll have some room on the cleat position to move your shoe closer or further from the crank/stay if you wish. HTH...
