Rated 5 out of 5 by 16 September 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by
Rated 5 out of 5 by 10 July 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Hubs very good hubs, durable, a bit heavy and a great price 20 May 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Demasiado pesado El buje por sí sólo, sin el cierre rápido, pesa más de 400 gr (420gr aprox). Me parece una barbaridad para un XT. Por lo demás, parece majo. 20 May 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by its good for everything Got it laced up to a sun rims double wide for dh runs great for the price 20 September 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by 20 May 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing performance without bling bullshit I have used many of these hubs over the years and they are all still in service on my different wheel builds: XC, AM and even FR. The cup/cone bearings outlast any sealed cartridge bearing from the other hubs that I have owned (and still own), including the famous and expensive variety. The axles are far stiffer and stronger for a given diameter than those of most of the competition. In fact I have to use Shimano Saint type 10mm hollow alloy axles to get the same stiffness and rigidity on other makes of rear hub... They need extra greasing and resetting from new, but if you take the time to do this initial reset properly - then you are good to go for years... But don't forget to check them occasionally! They will see off more than one set of rims if you ride hard. They remind me of the old Campagnolo Super Record cup/cone bearings that would go on forever... If you are a keen biker on a tight budget and you know how to handle a cone spanner - then don't think twice. Old fashioned common sense that makes the new "bling bling" hubs not only look a real consumer rip off - but also make them appear to be economical and ecological madness. Vanity vanity... 18 February 2013

Answer:
Yes.

8-, 9- and 10-speed cassettes all have the same total width - the sprockets are just closer together the more of them there are.

Answer:

Answer:
Research has shown that the Specialized Status 2012 uses a 'bolt in' rear axle, as this hub uses the Quick Release system; it may not offer the low flex levels that you require.

The hub weighs approx 430g.

Would this be compatible? The wheels and formula hubs are 36 hole/spoke too.
I measured the rough spacing between the front fork and it's 100mm.
I have also put the Shimano XT Disc Hub Front M756 in my shopping cart for now?

Answer:
Sounds like you have a standard QR set front and rear, so these XT hubs should be fine as replacements, yes. The rear dropout is 135mm wide, while the front is 100mm.

Answer:
As long as you're replacing like for like with respect to the axles standards, then you should be ok. If your existing wheels have standard 10mm (rear) and 9mm (front) quick-release hubs then it'll be fine to use these XT hubs.

If you want to double check, then make sure your frame has vertical dropouts, 135mm apart.

I am referring to the comical rubber cap that goes over the locknut and cone on the non drive side of this hub. My hub does not have one, and the photo above does not show one either, but I thought there was supposed to be one? Shimano tech docs show that there is one.

No, the rubber seal is only for FH-M756, not FH-M576A - if you look again at techdocs, there are two separate diagrams for the two different versions.

Answer:
I think (or at least hope) you mean you currently have 10x135mm QR (front QR axles are 9x110mm, rear are 10x135mm).

If that's the case, then yes, this hub will be a suitable replacement.
