cant find many faults in this chain, it is a great price at this time (£17.99) on sale, bad point is no connecting pin but i find a SRAM powerlink connector works just fine, cross brand between shimano and sram works fine, dont worry!

I like a product which works really well and this does the job in hand nicely and so far its had a good hammering!

I like everything about this chain apart from Shimano's connector rivet. It's not perfectly clear how far it must be driven. I'd rather use a missing link. That said, the chain shifts great along with the XT-cassette that I use.

I run a Genesis 2*10 hardtail, FSA Mega Exo 27/40 and XT 11/38 cassette and mechs
& an Ellsworth moment full sus ancient deore triple converted to double & bash 22/36 with XT 11/38 cassette and mechs.
I ride in the Cheviots, lots climbing, lots acid mud, very little 'technical'.
I wash (not pressure hose)and lube with pure juice after every ride. (Sad old ba**trad aren't I)
The shifting is great on both, but the hardtail goes through chains like butter. The last one has lasted 250k before being beyond the .75 stretch on my Park chain measuring tool. The Ellsworth is much gentler on chains, but then I don't honk(stand up out of the saddle) on the climbs as much, or ride it in the winter mud. I have'nt tried any other 10 speed chains, but used to use KMC's when I ran 9 speeds, they lasted much longer, but didn't shift as well, and occasionally 'broke'.

I have used KMC and or Clarke chain join links with shimano chains in the past..and they seemed to work ok. Will a 10 speed specific joining lnk work with this (Shimano XT chain).. Alternatively which KMC 10speed chain would you recommend for running with a shimano XT/SLX 2* 10 system.. I'm running this drive system on both my steel hardtail and alloy full susser..to allow max 'inter-changabilty wheels etc..) (85 kilo 65 year-old Cross country rider...)
