Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous forget the shadow options of the XT rear mech - from my POV they are no where near as well made and strong.
I rode XT and SLX shadow for a couple of years destroying them very quickly.
I have had this one on my bike for 9 months - the shifting performance is second to none and it is still straight as a die - unlike the shadow versions which seem to twist out of shape very quickly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous I have this on my Mckenzie German mountain bike. Its a bit clunky changing gears if your pedling to hard, but apart from thats its a really nice, light and tidy derailleur

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous Just bought this to replace old bog standard derailleur that came on the bike and it has made an instant difference. The old (acera I think) had stopped shifting precisely but this one is extremely smooth. didn't take too long to setup, my only gripe is that it doesn't have a barrel adjuster. Once set up it does work perfectly but I would have preferred the option of a barrel adjuster so fine adjusments can be made later on.
