Rated 5 out of 5 by buenisimo acabado tiene buena pinta y es facil de montar una marca conocida por tod@s fiable y muy bonito. 11 April 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Eficaz pero pesado Cambia bien, pero va algo duro y pesa 161grs mientras que un viejo Lx pesaba 137. Merece la pena sólo si se ha roto el anterior, no para mejorar la bici. 31 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by slick shifting good price, good performance came as a universal mounting option with tube spacers 28 February 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Bueno. Este cambio es muy bueno por lo que cuesta, yo lo tengo en mi stumpjumper FSR y la verdad que siempre ha ido genial. Se me ha desajustado un par de veces pero nada importante, fácil de regular e instalar. Muy bien. 06 January 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by е. лет через 10. 06 January 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Очень гуд! 01 January 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by excellent does what it says on the tin- excellent mech and a good upgrade from most consumer level bikes. Strong spring. 19 December 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Shimano Quality Nothing more nothing less. i had to chenge the settings on my bike and i simply have chenged from the topswing to thw conventional without thinking of changing brand. 12 December 2013

Answer:
Yes; this mech can run a 44t or 48t outer ring with a 20t capacity (so the inner ring cannot be more than 20t smaller than the outer), so a 28-38-48 setup will be fine.

will this work for an eight spead set up?

I have a Specialized FSR Elite from 1998. Awesome to ride and moves really well I don't need a 9 or 10 spead so I'm hoping to keep it to the old standard of 8spead. Will this do the trick or can someone recommend something thatwill or is better. I don't care if it's SRAM or Shimano both are good if you get the right gear. Cheers. Please in English, I see someone earlier has answered a similar question but in Russian I think. Thank you all the same for taking the time out to answer, but it doesn't help me cause I can't read it and I don't know any Russians sadly. Thank you in advance, Andy

Answer:
The previous answer (in russian) was a community reply and if a questions is asked in English, we will always answer in the same language :)

Unfortunately as a 9-speed derailleur traditionally runs with a narrow 9-speed chain; using it as part of an 8-speed drivetrain would not be advised.

We have an 8-speed option as listed below.

Answer:
Hi, there are so many Russian language comments/questions that it will be worth your while to translate them. Just search for "google translate", copy and paste, and success! I would give you the exact url but its forbidden by CRC.

The Shimano XT M771 Conventional 9sp is, as it says, only for 9 speed. The 10 speed likewise. You don't give enough information to enable anyone to point you in the right direction re alternatives. You would need to supply information regarding the down-tube diameter and number of rings (and teeth) of the chain-set, etc. If you use the drop-down menus at the top of the CRC homepage to find what you need- e.g MTB, Components, Derailleurs; and then use the menus on the left to refine your search; that will work for you. Good luck!

Answer:
You can use either model if you wish. Both dérailleurs have the same overall clamp size. The two just come supplied with different sized shims for narrower seat tubes. One model has an additional 28.6mm shim which you do not need for your stumpy but may be handy to have in the future.
