Rated 4.9 out of 5 by 14 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by XT say no more I used these on a build to replace Deore cranks from the donor bike. They aren't much different to the Deore cranks in design, but feel lighter and stronger. These and XT shifters gave me a full XT drivetrain and to be honest it feels superb and great for XC and trail riding on my hardtail. Have SRAM and Deore on other bikes and you can tell the difference with XT. It is close to my XTR drivetrain on my full sus AM bike. Make sure your entire drivetrain setup is dynasys to go with these cranks. This doesn't mean all XT. You can use a mix with any new 10 speed labelled dynasys from Deore up. 18 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Stuff This is a great bit of kit, strong and looks good in black.ruuning along with the XT rear mech is nice and smooth 14 June 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Value for money Initially wanted to go for XTR crankset, but after reading a lot of reviews and personally trying out, actually the performance not much difference except the weight. 07 May 2014

Answer:
If the crankarm length on your current crankset is giving you no problems when cycling then it is best to stick with the same sizing.

Simply measure your current crank 'center to center' for the measurement required (see image here - http://i.imgur.com/d8ipefS.jpg)

Answer:
The bottom bracket on the frame at present would need to be changed to the bottom bracket included with the new crankset.

To get the best performance it is advised to select the 9-speed variant of this crankset; which will offer better shifting performance and better engagement with the chain.

The tool for installing this crankset is found listed below also with the 9-speed M770.

Answer:
The Scott uses a British/English thread (BSA) bottom bracket shell. This means it can be used with Shimano Hollowtech chainsets with no problems.

The bottom bracket is provided, this is the newer external type. These have larger more reliable bearings.

The below tool will be suitable for fitting the BB/Chainset.

Answer:
I am no expert, but I think all BBs are the same diameter and threads on modern MTBs. The width of the frame varies slightly and you get 3 spacers to give you the correct size. I would measure the width of the BB on your frame and check the specs of the hollowtech 2 BB.

I have used hollowtech 2 on a Scott Aspect 910 and it required all 3 spacers as the frame BB was narrow, but on a carbon GT I only needed 1 spacer. I think the spacers make about to 9mm to 10mm of difference to the width. When installing the spacers you need to make sure that the chain runs in a straight line when on the middle rings front and back. My Scott had 2 spacers on the drive side and 1 on the left.
