Shimano XTR Ice Tec Disc Rotor RT98

XTR SM-RT98 Ice-Tech rotors providing consistent braking performance through energy control, using revolutionary stainless steel / alloy 3-layer sandwich construction that manages heat while riding.

The clad steel / alloy / steel rotor construction allows heat generated from braking to radiate quickly through the aluminium core achieving surface temperature drops of around 50 deg C. When used with Ice-Tech pads surface temperatures can drop from around 400 to 300 deg C, this provides great improvements in performance all round.

Underpowered brakes lead to defensive riding technique and, ultimately, to slower lap times. The XTR brake rotor, which encourages racers to attack technical downhill sections with confidence, leaving the competition squealing and squawking in the dust.

Power is pointless if it can't be maintained. Heat buildup is the enemy of any brake system, and IceTech features including aluminium-core rotors help dump heat and maintain consistent power.

These innovative Ice Tech brake rotors feature an aluminium core clad with stainless steel braking surfaces. The innovative design sheds weight, dissipate heat and dramatically improves overall performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by отличный диск Диск 203мм с гайкой весит 180г. Обычный стальной диск под 6 болтов с переходником под centre lock весит 220г. Слоёная структура (нержавейка-аллюминий-нержавейка) помогает лучше отводить тепло, часть его к тому же скорее всего уходит на паук. У 203-миллиметрового диска паук 5-лапый. Установка на порядок проще, чем 6-болтового. Никаких очередностей закручивания болтов и подкладывания стальных прокладочек с загибанием краешков. Съёмником для кассеты закрутил без фанатизма - и в путь. К тому же выглядит диск очень приятно. Такой же диск, но 160мм с начала этого сезона использую на заднем колесе, а завтра попробую новый на переднем. 11 July 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Лучше соотношение цена, качество, польза Отличнейшие диски, благодаря алюминиевому пауку и алюминиевому основанию они никогда не перегреются. На 203 и 180 роторах паук пятилапый. Сам диск трехслойный (основание средний слой сделан из аллюминия для лучшего теплоотвода). Откатал на них год катаю и зимой и летом и весной, износа нет, даже намёка. На вилсетах у меня изначально был центр-лок и сейчас многие производители втулок переходят на этот стардарт. Диск держится на втулке через шлицы и затягивается плоской гайкой (как на кассете). В случае обслуживания диск снимается за 15 секунд, и нет риска сорвать резьбу при закрутке, сильно тянуть нет необходимости, т.к. вся наргузка на шлицы передаётся, да и сорвать такую гайку врят ли выйдет. Кто сидит на болтах рекомендую перейти на центр-лок, конструкция реально лучше, проще надежней, легче, да и смотрится по другому. Сами роторы тоже отлично смотрятся на байке, многие кто видел такие роторы сразу интересовались, а те у кого есть - узнавали шедевр ) 03 September 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Брать! Жесткий, погнуть его не получится, прочный паук сломать тоже не получится быстрее ломаются ноги у вилки. Действительно на торцах видно что основа диска сплав алюминия, а тормозной слой - нержавеющая сталь. Перегреть такой диск нереально, алюминий делает своё дело. Рекомендую. Rated 5 out of 5 by Compatibility Issues Despite the previous comments it appears that this (180mm) rotor is not reverse compatible with the XTR M975 caliper. Set-up on the bike stand was perfect but in use when the system got hot I was astonished to discover that the Ice Tec rotor rubbed severely to one side of the caliper. Assuming it was a set-up issue I did a lot of tweaking to try to find the sweet spot but never found it. I put an 180mm RT97 rotor back on (no other changes) and the brake system operated perfectly drag free hot or cold. I haven't scored the disc low for this since it might be a compatibility issue with the caliper. 01 August 2011
