Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 49 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Not for disk brakes The mudguards are nice looking and the quality of the kit is ok, BUT they don't fit disk brake bikes.Installation takes more than 2 hrs if it is your first time, and you end up with bend stays on the left side where the disks are. Other than that, once fitted they do the job well keeping you clean, and they don't need readjustments. 15 February 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Worth the bit of time taken to fit Excellent quality kit that works really well. Just fitted my third set (this time to a Giant TCX running 700x35 Kenda small blocks). They fit really closely (particularly close inside front fork) but as this bike spends most of its time on road thats fine. Fiddles & Faffs; 1) Had to bend front hanger with pliers (took a few seconds) as too long for my frame. 2) No rear anchor on rear stays on this bike so used a zip tie around seat tube & fastened to a second through attachment holes in bottom of rear guard - secure and works fine. Remember to fit struts to guards (hand tight) before screwing to stays & forks and job of fitting is much less hassle. If you want to shorten them use a small hacksaw - Easy. 16 January 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by 05 January 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good once fitted. Have spares to hand. I've used theses SKS Chromoplastics for years on a number of different bikes. They are always challenging and time consuming to fit but once on they do the job they are designed to do very effectively. I do find that water gets directed onto the brake bosses of my CX / commuter and down onto the rear hub seals by the guards but regular maintenance looks after that. However what has not changed is that the riveted stay supports cannot cope with UK salted roads and the rivets corrode quite quickly. Have a supply of 4mm pop rivets handy. Also keep a couple spare sliding bridges in the shed as they tend to last no more than 4/6 months before snapping off. Another alternative is to drill and rivet a permanent support in place on the rear guard once you are happy with placement. Overall an effective mudguard, protects rider and most of the bike and still the #1 on the market for me. 29 December 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by 17 December 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Tough and good fit I brought these in 45mm for my cross/winter bike set up. They fit well and keep me and other riders clean on the road, then for cross I just take them off (7bolts). Being wider and more ridgid than the no mounting eye type of guard they go back on with no adjusting required. Also they dont seem to need adjusting after every little bump like other guards do. As with all guards though first set up takes while. 26 November 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Durable & lightweight Tried and true mudguards, good qual, nice and light. Can be hard for the first timer to get set up, but not an issue with experience. Just need to slide them up and down the rods and align by sight, simples. 21 October 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Fitting is annoying It's really hard to get them fitted properly. Spent about 1 day to get proper fit, now the fit is acceptable, but not perfect. Shackle of the front mudguard was too tall for my bike and I had to bend it. Hole in the shackle is too narrow and I had to slot the hole to the bigger size. 30 September 2013

why size 65 and 65wide?

According to the product details the 26"/65 size fits with Big Apple tyres.
Is that the case for both 65 and 65wide, or is there a difference that might make one of them not compatible with Big Apple tyres(2.35 size)?

Answer:
These guards are secured to the back of the fork crown via the Caliper Mount Bolt on the 26" variant mounting to the small hole on the back of the fork crown is also advised. Use with suspension forks is not advised as the top mount has no where to fit to.

Answer:
If you're running 28c at the minute with a view to upgrading to 32c in the future, you should be able to get away with the 35mm version, but the 45mm will offer additional clearance for mud shedding etc, so you could use it if you prefer.

Answer:
We don't carry small part spares for these guards unfortunately; your local hardware store may be able to provide you with a suitable replacement screw. Failing that, you can contact SKS directly for further advice. http://www.sks-germany.com/
