Rated 5 out of 5 by Does what it says on the tin. Does exactly what it's supposed to- mounts your smart rear light on the back of a rack. The 4 holes probably give you as many options as you need, and is certainly better than my bodged attempt of screwing some seat-stay-diameter wooden dowling to the rack! 09 September 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Just whats needed if you loose your bracket if needing a replacement the same I highly recommended this 01 September 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Completed my TUBUS rack perfectly Best value accessory I have bought in years. Love SMART rear lights - and now I can mount them on my rack freeing up the seat post. Has made the light more visible this way. Set comes with bolts, 8mm nuts and washers. 28 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Does the job! Very useful for fixing a rear light to a pannier frame. perfect it you are happy doing a bit of DIY getting it to fit. 11 June 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Useful Holds the light securely, is a "fit and forget about it" product. Have used one for 2 years on my other bike without any problems, bar sometimes a little difficulty getting the light off with cold mitts. But hey, that counts as anti-theft, right? 26 November 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fits just in Got this bracket to fit my Smart rear Led to my Tubus Locc. Did the job right. Recommended and it's tight and solid. 22 March 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Cheap and cheerful I liked this one so much I put it on stock alert so I could get another. That must be a first for a two dollar item. It fitted my light and fitted my rack, which is another first, a bike part that actually fitted anything. The mount holes are about 50mm apart horizontally and 20mm vertically and a Smart 7LED rear light fitted. The rack was a Tortec ultralite. Smart should include one of these with every rear light instead of the useless seat stay mount they give you. 30 September 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Just the job Fits perfectly and the option to fit more than 1 is a +, and so cheap ! 19 April 2010

Answer:
Not really; the Cateye light uses a rectangular connection while this Smart clamp uses a square connection. It will hold the light, but not securely (I expect it would vibrate itself free after a short time). You would be best advised to source a Cateye rack mount, or adapt the clamp provided (90 degree seatpost clamp) to your existing rack.

Answer:
This bracket is designed primarily for Smart lights; however the bracket engagement is fairly universal and 'may' be compatible with other models.
