Rated 4 out of 5 by A great cleat, but look after them. Wouldn't swap my speedplays for anything. However I would suggest getting the covers for them for when you walk as the cleat is easily damaged. 02 May 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Keep 'em clean and lubed ... I've put well over 30,000 km on Speedplay pedals and cleats. Speedplay recommends replacement every 5,000-8,000 km but I've gone over 10,000 km with proper care. Use the cleat caps and don't fill them full of gravel and grit. Keep them clean, I simply flush mine out with a little WD-40 or similar and keep them well lubed with PTFE dry lube. I've seen numerous complaints about maintenance but frankly it's no worse than proper care for any pedal system. If you fill them full of mud and grit and never lube them you can pretty much depend on problems. I've never had a set fail me and even after 10,000 km I could probably go a little longer. I don't baby them either, I ride minimum 1,000 km a month, rain or shine, quite a lot of in and out at traffic lights on the way to the open road and I'm 190cm, 94 kilos and I generate quite a lot of power. I've got Zero Titaniums on two of my road bikes and Frogs on my Cross and Mountain bikes. Can't beat the float and the two sided entry. Not a cheap system but you get what you pay for. 24 March 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Moving parts fitted to bottom of shoe is not a good idea! Have to constantly re adjust cleat. If you over tighten screws even slightly you cant clip in. If you tighten to manufacturer recommended torque they always come loose every week or so. If you're a pro and have a mechanic to double check cleat alignments and tightness once a week then great but otherwise you're just wasting your time. I recommend buying buy look or shimano etc instead. Far more reliable, not over complicated like these. 20 January 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by The best pedal/cleat system on the market. I have four pairs of speedplay pedals, in my opinion they are some of the finest on the market. The tradeoff is the cleats are expensive, and require more service. However if you do take care of them the pedals and cleats last much longer than the manufacturer recommends. if you take the time to keep them clean and lubricated I found they last much longer than Look or SPD-R plastic cleats. 28 October 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Float, Good Durability I've tried all the pedal systems and for me the Speedplay Zero is the best design in a road pedal system for me. Easy to clip in and out, 2-sided, great float. Lots of adjustment for the float but I just leave mine at maximum. Speedplay recommends changing the cleats out at 5,000km. I think it's highly dependent on riding conditions and care. I just changed out a set after 10,000km. If you don't ride in really dirty conditions, keep them clean, and lubricate them properly they will go beyond the 5,000km. 28 March 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by The cleat for the Zero pedal. Very customisable on the position - which require you to be very exact on the set up. 30 April 2012

By using carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic in addition to alloy fasteners, the weight of the cleats is reduced to 88.5 grams per pair (56.5g pair 4-hole mounting, 88.5g pair 3-hole mounting). This makes them some 29.5g lighter than the standard Zero cleats.
