Rated 4 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Reasonable shifter funtion, but limited durability I bought this to replace a broken but identical SRAM Rival lever (after an unfortunate non-unclipping incident at the traffic lights). 1) the performance is ok but as many other forum-contributors have stated it is really very stiff to use when matched with a SRAM front mech changer. At first I thought the lever might break but then I found out that that is just how it is. For me it's too stiff. 2) the design is such that the brake lever pivot boss is plastic. So when the bike dropped to the floor the boss cracked and the brake lever popped out. Perhaps I had the assembly nut torque too high to allow for deflection under impact, so now I have and use a decent torque driver. I use the SRAM shifters because they have a nice large paddle for gear shifting which is better for thick gloves. Otherwise, I would stick with Shimano. 09 May 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Tell 'em what comes in the box Sweet shifters, which comes with all the cables to fit. Bet you didn't know that, because I didn't and just spent $70 on cables, which I don't need. CRC, please tell us what is in the box! 19 December 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Brilliant After fiddling with Shimano 105's for a number of years, finding they constantly need tweaking, these SRAM Apex shifters are a revelation, they took seconds to adjust out of the box and have performed without a flaw after a few minutes of using the double tap becomes second nature, excellent product 04 September 2013

Answer:
I am quite sure that this is for double only, i.e. two front chain rings.

Answer:
Yes, the SRAM shifters use the same gear pull ratio, so you should be able to mix and match. Shifting performance would be much better on the Rival than on these Apex, but they will work ok.

Answer:
I believe that SRAM shifters are matched with SRAM changers, meaning you can mix and match (as long as you don't introduce Shimano, Campag or others). At least I have a mix of Apex and Rival on my bikes.
