SRAM OG1090 10 Speed Road Cassette

OpenGlide, the key to smooth performance in competition and on the open road. To take full advantage of the power and promise of the SRAM Rival gruppo, you need a cassette and chain that are up to the task. With the new SRAM Red Cassette's semi-spidered design, we’ve removed specific sections of material from the small cogs, creating a cogset that shifts efficiently and positively in all situations. OpenGlide technology allows for the smoother transition between gears when up and downshifting. Semi-spidered design is light, strong and efficient.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Upgraded from the 1070 Cassette and wow what a differance. Really quiet and has improved the changes. Well worth the extra cost 29 November 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by smooth like butter This thing is really impressive, it works like a charm. The only thing is that i have to change my wheels, some Mavic Helliums, for other newer, don't if i'm missing something or what, but it seems impossible for mounting these on that wheels... if anything, right now i'm very happy with it. 02 April 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Faultless shifting Once dialed in after the first ride, shifting was faultless. Has to be spot on to work quietly, but once you've found the perfect adjustment for the front and rear derailleurs (yes, the front derailleur will cause the cassette to behave noisily if not perfect) the shifting is absolutely incredible, with brilliant changes under load out of the saddle tearing up a hill. 14 August 2010

Where are the splines

Hello,

Looking at the picture of this cassette I cannot see splines on all off the cogs. Is this right. It only seems to be driving on the first and last cogs which has an unusual sawtooth shape.

Answer:
The 'shift gates' on this cassette are tactically placed to improve shifting efficiency. The spacing appears irregular to look at but is actually a very smooth cassette to run within a drivetrain.

Answer:
Yes, SRAM and Shimano run the same spline pattern on their freehubs, so this should be fine on a regular Shimano hub.

Shift gates and splines

Hello,

I am asking about the splines on the inner diameter of the cassette, no the shift gates between the teeth on the cogs. There only seem to be interface splines on the cassette inline with the largest cassette (25T).

So, my question is, is this enough the drive the cogs around with the wheel as it seems quite flimsy.
