Rated 4 out of 5 by Good solid Chain I used this on a single speed conversion with a Dmr tension device but found the joining link was to wide to fit in the groove of the tension device. I also found the link was very tight to fit and resulted in a stiff link so I gave up and joined the chain with a link pin and chain tool. This also enabled me to use the dmr chain device. Overall I am pleased with the quality of the chain and it looks strong enough but the joining link is a waste of time. 29 January 2013

Rated 2 out of 5 by The chain seems OK but the connector link was faulty, as was found by an earlier UserProfileReference. The holes in one of the outer panels were too small and it was impossible to fit the link without tools (and even with tools it took a lot of brute force and was still not totally satisfactory). 02 October 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Chain seems to be a nice quality item but the connector link was a nightmare. The outer plate was way to tight to fit on without mole grips and I eventually ruined it (is this meant to be a quick fit item?). Gave up in the end and just joined the chain using the regular method with a chain splitting tool. Was I doing something wrong? 17 June 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by I run a 1/8" chainring (FYXO) to a White Industries Freewheel (3/32") and bought the 7X after problems with the oft lauded Wippermann 108 track chain. Basically the Wippermann chain would swim across the freewheel teeth and make loud 'spanging' noises as the squared inner plates came down on and then popped around the freewheel teeth. No amount of chain line adjustment or slackening (within reason) made a difference - it seemed that something about the bike wasn't quite square and the 108 chain wouldn't tolerate it. (nor should it, ideally, but I'm not about to throw away a bike for a half millimetre of asymmetry) Anyway, as best as I can tell, the SRAM PC 7X works because, should the chain wander, the inner plates are ramped and as such are infinitely more forgiving than a 'pure' track chain. The ramps gently guide the chain back to where it needs to be. It's also lasted quite a bit longer than the Wippermann I ordered through CRC. So far, over twice as long. Not as nice to look at, but who wants a shiny chain that costs more and doesn't work as well? 10 April 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Stands out a lot of abuse during trials (banging chain against rocks and stuff) and the only thing that was weak was the connector link which broke pretty easily during pedal kick. Still, the chain is extremely durable and cheep too! As Jason said very easy to keep shine and clean, probably one of the best SS chains out there. 31 July 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by I got this for my Genesis IO ss. Good quality. Easy to keep clean and shiny. i have saved the connecting link for when I need while out on a ride if something should go wrong. I have had the chain on the bike since april and use the bike 3 time a week and no signs of wear. Does what is says on the tin. 15 September 2009
