The newest 1091 chain features more heavily chamfered outer plates for improved shifting and quieter running. Other advancements include a new inner plate finish plus chrome hardened pin construction, both for longer chain life. The HollowPin construction of SRAM's 10 speed PowerChain™ provides smooth, precise shifting and weight savings without sacrificing strength.
HollowPin: We employ HollowPin™ construction on all SRAM top of the line PowerChains. HP yields plate retention strength, front and rear shifting efficiency, and low weight benchmarks unreachable in solid pin chain applications.
PowerLock: SRAM chain engineers developed PowerLock as a tool free, sure and consistent way to connect our 10 speed chains. While PL does not require special tools for install, the especially tight tolerances of 10 Speed drive trains mandated that each PowerLock is good for a one-time application only.
Technology: Hollow Pin, PowerLock®
Compatible: Gears 10
Closing Link: PowerLock tool-less connecting link
Outer Plate: Nickel Silver w/Lighting Hole
Inner Plate: Nickel Silver
Pin Treatment: Chrome Hardened Pins
Rivet Type: Hollow Pin

Bought this thinking it would be nice with an upgrade from the basic PC1031, which came with the bike, when changing the drive system on my Stumpjumper Evo 29'er (SRAM XO 2x10). Changed cassette, jockey wheels and chainrings and installed this chain . Nothing but hassle from day one: 1) Poor changing both front and rear & difficult indexing 2) falling off from large chain wheel by riding up on the teeth when in high gear & 3) strange and annoying slight grinding noise when on smaller chain wheel in lower gears.
After three frustrating rides I switched back to a new 1031 and all problems disappeared now it's running smoother than ever.
2 lessons learnt:
1) If it ain't broke don't fix it
2) Never waste an extra £20 on a 20 gram weight saving! It's easier and cheaper to have one less pint!

Como la versión de 9 velocidades pero con 10. Misma resisténcia y prestaciones. Con el paso a 10 piñones es muy recomendable.

I prefer sram chains over shimano as the connector pins can be fiddly, great chain, very reliable.

Great quality, lasts well, perfect shifting and makes a great sound!
Could not recommend more.
Have used the 1091R which is also an excellent chain but not worth the extra £££

I mostly use these chains over their Shimano equivalent - they just seem to be stronger and last longer (without any obvious increase in wear on a Shimano cassette).

Good quality and good value, these chains are stronger than campag ones as im running a campag setup. They last for ages and they seem to stretch very little in comparison to other brands. After 2000 miles its showing very little wear. Am gradually replacing all my bikes with sram chains as they are a realy high quality product.
