Rated 4 out of 5 by Cheap and simple It's fairly cheap, and very easy to install with the included power-link. I always use SRAM chains because of the ease of use of the power links, and they work fine with my Shimano drivetrain. I've found they last for around 3k miles when you keep them clean, but at their price you can't do much better! 23 April 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good replacement chain Sram quality & getting harder to get 8 speed stuff so a much appreciated purchase. Durability is always the key question and this has racked up a few Km's now & no sign of early wear at all. Always been a bit of a Shimano fan but Sram are slowly turning me (slowly!!) 23 April 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good enough, but not the best It does perform like it's at the high end of the price range, but for that money the best chain I've ever used is the KMC X8 99. The PC890 just didn't feel as smooth, last as long, or look as nice. 06 June 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by smooth and reliable Been using this chain with a Rohloff-hubbed touring bike for more than 4000 kms. The PC890 has been well lubricated and cleaned regularly and has never let me down. The PC890 and the Powerlink connector has so far been entirely reliable, but it has only ever run in a straight line between the single chain-ring and the gear-hub's single cog. For those who have struggled with the Powerlink, there is a design feature that requires a certain technique when opening it. Basically the side plates of the Powerlink have to be squeezed towards each other as they are slid in opposite directions. It's not too difficult with a bit of practice and makes fitting or removing a chain for cleaning a quick and straight forward task. A clean, well lubricated chain is a happy chain which will reward the pedallist with smooth, quietly efficient forward motion. Why would you ever go back to having to use a chain breaking tool, except of course for the initial fitting? 10 July 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by I'll second that. My last PC890 lasted for well over two years non-stop comuting through filth. A great product. 22 February 2011
