Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 42 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Works fine but looks a little tinny It does the job and is great value, but looks flimsy. I actually put it on my road bike as I wanted the lower gearing and it was fine, if you do this make sure the chain is compatible. 30 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product A smooth changing cassette, i needed to change from a nine speed to 8 to match my shifter, with in 10 minutes it was done and i was riding. 17 August 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 Все идеально! Заказывал 7 мая 2014 года в Воронеж ( 500км от Москвы) пришло за 20 дней! Компект полный, все точно! 8 звезд, ну что говорить, просто новая вещь. 30 May 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by A good quality product and great price I ordered this part as the final change item for replacing my crankset and chain. I couldn't (wouldn't) believe that the changing of the 'old' cassette would make any difference... it didn't look that bad, and left it out initially but found the new chain was slipping on the cassette. What a difference changing the cassette has made. This item was fitted in five minutes, MAX. You will need the correct tool to fit the lockring and for safety reasons it is advisable to use a torque wrench to ensure correct tightness. For those who need to change any of the chain, crankset or cassette.. change them ALL at the same time. The ride and changing of gears is so much smoother, making for a much more pleasurable ride experience. 28 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Эта кассета отличный выбор . Отличное соотношение цена -качество ! Рекомендую . 14 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Works Great I am running it as a 7 speed on an old Norco Bush Pilot, very easy to install, love the range of gears. 14 March 2014

It would have to be a Shimano/SRAM freehub body. It would not be compatible with a Campag freehub body.

Answer:
KMC X8 99 is an 8-speed chain which accommodate bigger teeth and wider cog spacing on an 8-speed cassette (in comparison to 9-speed cassette. Running an 8-speed chain on a 9-speed cassette (with slightly smaller teeth and narrower cog space) will not be ideal although it still 'works'. There will be more rubbing and both the chain and cassette will wear out faster.

Answer:
Not too sure, but a SRAM PC830 7-8 Speed Chain does the trick. When I adjust (shorten) a chain next time, I will do it 1 link at a time - that way you don't cut it too short. It would also be a good idea to get some extra SRAM Powerlink Connectors.

No, they are not compatible. Shimano RSX A410 Rear Hub is for 7-speed hyperglide, with 126 OLN. 8-speed hubs come in standard 130 OLN, and different thread size.

Answer:
Hi Padraig.

Yes this cassette is compatible with Shimano freehubs. The lock ring on both Shimano and Sram cassettes have an identical fitting for the tool that you describe. So it will work no problem.

Answer:
Yes and yes. I did use the setup myself, Alivio rear mech and shifters over the SRAM cassette. The cassette is compatible with Shimano freehub (8,9 or 10-speed freehub body), and Shimano lockring works on the cassette too.

Will this combination work together?

Shimano Sora 8-spd shifters
SRAM PG850 8-spd MTB cassette
Shimano Deore Mega derailleur

The gear changing is really clunky, especially when moving to a higher gear.

Many thanks.

Yes, as long as you stick with a Shimano 8sp Sifters and Derailleur's then you will be able to use a 8sp SRAM Chain and Cassette without any problems.

Answer:
It should work. The actuation ratio of the shifters is the same as for the rear mech (so they should pull the right amount of cable to index).

There are two possible problems though :

1) Chain width - the Deore rear mech is designed to work with a 9-speed chain which is slightly narrower than an 8-speed chain. As far as I know the 8 speed chain will fit through the cage though.

2) Front shifting - Road and mountain shimano front mechs use different actuation ratios so you might run into more problems on the front end if you're not careful.
